never hated Bama before I moved here, but since I have to work & live with the fans, I wan't them to lose in EVERYTHING!!! In their eyes they don't accept a loss, there is ALWAYS an excuse if the other team has more points.
This is so true. I liked Bama before moving here also. Now I can't stomach the thought of them winning the MNC. And you can bet they will not say they back into the BCS like they say about LSU in 2007.

Technicaly yes LSU rushed for more yards. Take away the yards gained by Jefferson on scrambles from pass plays and what do you have. Now look at the actual rushing attack from both teams and tell me which was more effective?
Jefferson's "scrambles", only some of which are actually scrambles and not planned runs, are a legitimate part of our offense when he's in the game. That's part of the added dimension he brings when we use him instead of Lee.
It would be like our saying that a lot of Bama's passing yardage was really just dump offs to Richardson in the flat and not really throws downfield against our secondary, so take away that passing yardage and our passing game was more effective.
Rushing yardage is rushing yardage, passing yardage is passing yardage, and, most importantly, points are points. Deal with it.

ESPN's Brad Edwards and Kirk Herbstriet think differently
No, they don't.

they are just only paid by the most influential media outlet in all of sports to predict these things for a living.
No, they aren't.
They're paid to promote the Disney/ABC/ESPN message, whatever that is at any given time.
And Brad Edwards has been woefully wrong EVERY SINGLE WEEK in his BCS projections. His prediction for the first BCS standings was Oklahoma #1, Alabama #2 and LSU #3. The actual standings were exactly the reverse of that. lsumatt on the Tiger Rant, is about a thousand times more reliable than Brad Edwards or any media talking-head "guru".

Since Bama is about 18-5 at BR since 1964, I think we kinda like playing LSU down in that area.
Princeton has more NCs than any other team in college football, so they would obviously beat us in New Orleans, too.
1) Your record in BR from 2000 through today is 2-4, and you've won once in the last four tries (an OT win over our 2008 team that went 7-5 in the regular season, including two double digit losses at home).
2) The game is in the Superdome, where LSU hasn't lost since 1987.
3) Over the past 30 years, including this one, LSU has a better record at Alabama than Alabama has at LSU.

You think Bama was tickled pink about playing Florida again in the 1999 SEC title game. After squeaking out a 40-39 OT win at the Swamp in the regular season. But Bama did what Championship teams do, they dealt with whatever was in front of them for a Championship. All LSU has got to do is deal with whatever is in front of them.
If you think you're the best.
What's the problem?
ROLL TIDE !!!!!!!!

If we don't beat LSU, then I'm good with a LSU-Bama rematch provided LSU gets by Georgaia. On the other hand I'd enjoy the heck out of LSU puttin' a beatdown on OkSt.

Forgive me if it has already been posted here, but I haven't read the entire thread just yet.
All the talk of a rematch, I just have one question. Prior to last season, the 2010 season, there was much talk before the season about Alabama/Florida, and the possibility of a 3rd straight SECCG matchup. They had not played in the regular season, and met in Atlanta in '08 and '09. And I heard people on both sides agree that if both teams somehow managed to get to that game, and if it was going to be a split with each team winning one of the games, you'd much rather win the 2nd game, the one that counted. Not saying that the regular season doesn't count, but the idea was that if Florida lost in Tuscaloosa, yet beat them in Atlanta, they're rightfully the SEC champs.
To me, this whole idea of a BCS rematch is very similar. Not identical since it is obviously for the BCS-NC and not the SEC, but I feel the same way about it. If you lose the first game, you know you're probably out of the hunt for the conference but still have an outside shot at the BCS.

Wow. Take away this, take away that....
What a butthurt little Gump you are.
Take your lumps and deal with the fact that LSU is the better overall team.

LSU fans can keep thinking they beat Alabama for no reason. Just proves y'all aren't a bright fanbase. And OP that wasn't directed at you.
Since the OP is a Tiger fan, gotta call b.s. on that remark. BTW, like most real Tiger fans, neither the OP or myself think we beat 'Bama for no reason. Even if it was LSU's only win of the season that victory would have been priceless.

Agreed.
(1) Alabama lost at HOME to LSU
(2) Alabama wouldn't have won their conference, much less their division
If LSU is undefeated after Friday, there is absolutely no point in playing Alabama because it means the regular season games, conference and division championships mean absolutely nothing. It means both LSU and Alabama could have lost in November to each other with no penalty, so what's the point.

The point is the SECCG is just that. The game for the conference champs. The BCSCG is for the national champs.

I'd gladly trade places with y'all.
Getting an SEC ring and a NC ring would be nice.
Being undefeated would be nice.
But instead we lost a very defensive game, mostly because of some crappy kicking. And have to hope that we can get a chance to (not play Houston) play y'all again.
