After some discussion on the Tiger Rant, some interesting math came to my attention that I'm sure is Germans over here as well, but here it is anyway:

Assuming LSU, Bama, and Okie St win out, the difference between Bama and Okie St could be something like this:

Assuming a consensus at each position:
Team Coaches/Harris/Computers = composite
Bama #2/#2/#3 = .9466 ([.96+.96+.92]/3)
Okie St #3/#3/#2 = .9333 ([.92+.92+.96]/3)

If Okie St snags 25% of the second place votes:
Bama .94 ([.95+.95+.92]/3)
Okie St .94 ([.93+.93+.96]/3)

These are "round" numbers, but should give everybody an idea of how close this could be after 12/3.

My preferred route to the BCS for Bama is still to some how make it to ATL and beat the dogs. The SECCG matters to me.

That said, if LSU wins out or even if Arkie got to ATL somehow and Bama won the BCSCG over either, I'll proudly slap a #14 on the wall and buy the T-shirt.

If the roles were reversed, I would feel 100% the same way... except mine would be #4 instead of #14.

A re-match would be like Nov. 5th did not happen.
As far as Bama is concerned, they didn't lose, they just un-won and LSU was just lucky.

I never hated Bama before I moved here, but since I have to work & live with the fans, I wan't them to lose in EVERYTHING!!! In their eyes they don't accept a loss, there is ALWAYS an excuse if the other team has more points.

Bama fans are the sorriest losers I have ever dealt with.

Goofy - 14th, riiiiight.

2nd BCS, which would be legit.

NOT like the Southern Living and Guns and Ammo titles "bestowed" on the gumps from years past.

This was the admins idea. My original post was titled something like "I have accepted the rematch" and wasn't meant to be a discussion of the rematch per sé.

There will be an SEC rematch in New Orleans. Which 2 teams isn't settled yet, but obviously the odds on favorites are Gumps and Corn Dogs.

Personally, I hope it is the Hogs getting a chance to make up for our embarrasing showing in September.

The national media guys can bitch all they want, but even they realize that nobody outside the SEC West could realistically have a shot of winning anyway.

Technicaly yes LSU rushed for more yards. Take away the yards gained by Jefferson on scrambles from pass plays and what do you have. Now look at the actual rushing attack from both teams and tell me which was more effective?

That's what I thought. BOOM on that.

Do you realize that the exact same thing is said about LSU fans. I was fine until Katrina put 4 or 5 of you guys in my neighborhood or place of employment(wonder why they wont go home?) Your solution. Move back.

Somebody isn't paying attention.

BradEdwards_BCS Brad Edwards After looking at the rating points in the computers today, I think LSU is a huge favorite to win the 3-way tie.

BradEdwards_BCS Brad Edwards ARK would probably have to beat LSU by double digits to gain enough poll separation to overcome the computer deficit.
