It's been a wild ride.
Bama needed:
1. Oregon to beat Stanford
2. Boise to lose, thanks TCU
3. OSU to lose, thanks IS
4. USC to beat Oregon, thanks Kiffin
5. OU to lose again, thank you Baylor (probably the most entertaining game I've watched this year)
6. Some thought Clemson had a shot, thanks NCS

You're right. I've defended Miles over the last few years under the banner of "compete for the West". In '08 we really didn't, but have every year otherwise. You win the West and then the SEC... everything else takes care of itself.
So many Bama and LSU fans are so spoiled that SEC goals aren't good enough.

Does this mean if it happens, there will be no more, how many crystal balls yall have? because the BCS would be overrated?
It would force me to recognize USC 2003

I'll do it though damnit.

Let's just hope LSU wins so I don't have to change my mind about split titles

Have you already given up on your Okie Lite hopes Yates? I just knew you would be carrying their flag today.

It would be a honor! If this scenario occurs and Bama wins, LSU would be the champs of the nations best conference division, champs of the nations best conference, but not the national champion.

fwiw, I would have no beef if the the AP crowned Lsu if Bama had a narrow win. Having said that, if it happens, ignore my posts, as I will be having fun with the tards
Screw the AP! I only like crystal!

Did you know that they still claim the '04 national championship? Even though they had to give back the crystal, they got to keep the AP trophy.

it was never really hope. it was math and probability. everything that needed to happen for Alabama did happen. before it happened, it was very very unlikely that Alabama played for it all. now it's 65-35 in favor of a rematch IF the SEC wins their OOC games against the ACC this coming weekend.
I'd much rather LSU play the school of the deaf and blind in the big game than a legit team. Duh. I want LSU to have the best chance possible to win.

This Bama fan is against it because, unless we just blow you out which we won't, it will not be a legit title in my book. We didn't take care of business when it mattered and so I don't think we deserve another shot for all the marbles. Now if the PTB wanted to schedule a best of three type deal I'd be for that since then the winner could claim obvious superiority. Otherise you just set up everyone for a tie and you know what they say about those.
Of course my opinion and $1 might get you a coke so...

My thoughts exactly. I'd figure it to be a split title (in a close loss to Alabama on a neutral field). In an ideal world a best of three would take place.. game two on a neutral field, any potential game three in tiger stadium.
I think LSU would win it outright though

Yep. Even better some of those losses came at the hands of bad football teams.
Forgot to mention Penn State. Gotta give em props for that road win yesterday. Gotta keep that SOS as high as possible.

make teams have to win your conference to play in the BCSNCG.
and.....i prefer conference champions who played in a CCG over those who do not. pac 12 and big 10 finally have them like the ACC and SEC but not the old big 12.
I agree
My take is if you want to play in a National Championship you should have to win your conference.
If you want to play in a national championship your conference should have a CCG
and lastly if you want to play in a NCG be in a fricking conference... I'm looking at you Notre Dame

That Penn st win helps LSU at this point too. The SEC vs ACC matchups are really important this coming weekend. Florida and Georgia both have tough games coming.

I think that all this should be shelved until the season is over. That being said:
It does seem unfair that Bama would sit home while LSU beats Georgia in the SECCG then gets a second shot at the Tigers for all the marbles. LSU showed that they can contain the Bama offense and Georgia Southern exposed a chink in their defensive armor that LSU can exploit. The game at Bama showed also that LSU's depth and special teams are decisive factors. Bottom line; LSU wins the rematch. Add that to next year's loss in Death Valley and it'll be 4 IN A ROW for Miles vs Saban. Choke on that thought Gumps,

Now where is that douche that kept posting the 5 stages of grief-loss chart. He must still be on bargaining.

That was me (see avatar). Not meant to be specific to Bama. I was just tired of hearing multiple fan bases make excuses for their losses (Oregon, WV, Bama...). The stuff being posted was boarding on comical, hence my observations.
I am "accepting" of the likely rematch (not much grief at LSU these days, however). I am leary as it is hard to beat any team twice in the same year (much less a very good Bama squad). Life is not fair. The national champ will have to earn it.
I will make you deal, if Bama gets hosed by the final BCS rankings I will leave the Bama fans alone with grief/loss stages.
