The truth is that the SECCG is now the Pro Bowl game. Unnecessary and, frankly, a lot more to lose than gain with so many untimely injuries.
Any year, the best 2 SEC teams are in the Playoffs. So, what is the point?

Exactly. That's why Alabama wasn't even trying to win the SECCG because we knew we were already in the playoffs.

And will completely embarrass the conference in the playoffs once again. Georgia is the biggest reason that the SEC has fallen behind the B1G — Georgia has proven incapable of filling the void left by Saban and Alabama and carrying the torch nationally for the SEC. That’s why the SEC had to import blue bloods Texas and OU. These types of jobs aren’t meant to be handled by the Georgia and LSU’s of the world. Y’all can win titles in support roles but you can’t carry a conference…as is being born out right now.

When the agreement to bring in Texas and OU was made Georgia was Robin to Alabama’s Batman. Winning titles in a support role, as I said. No worries about having to carry a conference. LSU has done the same. But look what happened when Saban retired. Where are Georgia’s titles as lead dog in the SEC? Georgia hasn’t won a playoff game since Saban retired and the SEC has fallen out of the top spot.

The op is correct. You guys don’t realize how far the SEC has come back to the pack and how improved a lot of other teams are because of NIL and the portal. You live in your bubble and do t look past the name of the school. UGA is clearly the best team in the SEC. From coach to QB to offense, and especially defense. The SEC has become pretty weak on defense. Most of the country has as well but the playoffs have exposed SEC defenses.

This guy is world class at flaming. I’m impressed.
SEC didn’t become the dominant conference because of 1 team. We dominated the national stage because of top to bottom strength and because 6 of our teams won a national championship in 25 years. Bama, UGA, Florida, and LSU won multiple during this timeframe.

Nah, when Texas beats Georgia next it’s not going to be like beating Saban in Tuscaloosa or anything. Probably just get on with my day. Hopefully, that will mean that Georgia is eliminated from the playoffs though so the conference will be spared that embarrassment.
