Don't claim him but I also don't know whether to dislike him or feel sorry for him. Something tells me his side of the story would be much different than what you read. He played like a champ today though, I know that.

From an article I read, sounds like maybe his dad is a big a-hole and pushed perfection out of him. I agree that there are always two sides to a story.

Teammates caught him stealing from them and later got caught cheating in a qualifying match.
I know they caught him cheating again at Augusta State.
He got kicked off UGAs team when he got a second drunk and disorderly arrest and his parents tried to cover it up. Well, that was the straw that broke the camels back.
ETA: his teammates hated him.

I pulled for him. Not for his UGA connection(s) but because I know he isn’t using PED’s and HGH.

Unlike college football I do not have a clear favorite in golf but I was glad to see after all the bellyaching from some snowflakes in here wishing he would crash and burn that Reed went in dry.

He's a douche. He drives around Houston in a Lambo thinking he's hot shite. An a-hole to club staff at Woodlands CC.
He cheated in golf numerous times and he stole from his teammates - both serious issues. He's totally unlikable and fittingly, received the most muted applause coming up 18 and after his winning putt.
Congrats on the win, I guess. Dickhead.

Some of the UGA fans are just butthurt that after he left Georgia Reed helped Augusta College beat them for a Natty. They need to move on and get over it but that's their cross to bear.

So UGA fans don’t like a guy who cheated, stole, alienated his teammates, and disowned his own family, but in your eyes it due to a meaningless Golf National Title? His wife is a type A bitch and Reed is a douche. Period, screw his school affiliation.

This is false. His Augusta State teammates tried to vote him off the team, but their coach could see a natty and squashed that attempt

Everyone calling him a douche sure as hell pulls for him in Ryder Cup. Doesn't seem to have much of an issue being a good teammate in that event.

I don't think anyone claims Reed. I know a couple of the guys that played with him at Augusta State, and apparently everyone on the team hated him.
ASU always had a mix of international players on their golf squad, and I've heard that those players never tried to befriend Reed because of his attitude. I think this has likely fed into his hatred for the Euro side that he exhibits at the Ryder Cup. He really is golf's villain.

Ha. Nobody would play with the DB. Jordan Speith finally volunteered, 'cause he's a good guy and took it for the team. In interviews with other team members, they said that they didn't hang with Reed and still don't really know him. He's a prick. A world class a-hole. It's not illegal
ETA: I'm still more bitter about Danny effing Willett winning a green jacket 2 years ago. At least Reed is a world class player, and not just the luckiest SoB in the tournament
