It’s the straight lying to him about supporting his transfer that is at issue. Asking a young black man to stay in a racially hostile environment and the refusing to honor your promise is pretty toxic.

UGA is a sieve right now. Players transferring like crazy and they're mad at every single one of them when they should be asking why the hell did UT and UF end up with two of their 5*s, and Ohio St. another 5* who is also game changing player. Meanwhile, OM picked up 4* safety who claimed racism was too much for him to handle at UGA and he's not the first to call out the university for being a racism heavy environment. He transferred to Ole Miss of all places to get away from the racism at UGA -- think about that.
The notion that UGA has a toxic environment has legs. These are not the types of players that you lose to transfer.

Sour grapes. The UF transfer got in a fight with teammates and was a cancer, Reese got beat out by a freshman and was still given a second chance, Mayes got sand in his vagina after Coach Luke yelled at him in the sugar bowl for constantly screwing up.

1. The ncaa hasn’t cleared him. That has nothing to do with uga support or lackthereof. Him refusing to give uga permission to release our documentation tells us who is full of BS.
2. Other people call it convincing a kid to not be a worthless quitter. It’s tough love. That’s the way you were raised most likely, as you aren’t 20 or a raging lib, so it’s beneath you to play the other side.

OM has a racist past that is well known. What is less well known is that UGA also has a notoriously racist past when compared to other SEC schools. When UT was recruiting Jackie Walker (one of the first black players in the SEC and the first black captain of an SEC team) he spoke to his brother about his fears on whether or not he should attend UT or attend an HBCU like his brother was at the time. Walker wasn't afraid of playing at UT but facing what he knew would be a horribly racist environment in certain road games in the Deep South and mentioned UGA by name. Fortunately for us, he decided being a pioneer was worth it.
OM has worked hard to address its past and I give the admin a ton of credit for acting swiftly when the racist dipshits who are drawn to that past act out. UGA hasn't taken the same steps.

Tough love isn’t lying to a kid to get them to do what you want. Tough love is making them live with their decisions. Tough love is letting my 10 year old daughter carry a phone with a cracked screen because I told her not to put it in her back pocket while riding her bike. It fell out and cracked the screen. Huge difference from just being a douchebag like Kirby.
