Things change in a short amount of time. And for all the bashing LSU QB's have gotten, those guys were instrumental in taking LSU to a 24-3 record in the last 2 years - not too damn shabby IMO.

I didn't really mean to bash either guy. I have never ever bashed any LSU player. The frustrating part, was watching receivers run wide open down the field and not have the ball thrown their way. I can only hope that Mett can do a better job fixing that problem this year.

For the record I would take Russell strictly from what I have seen of all 3 so far.

I'd prefer Frazier- I like having a dual-threat guy back there in today's game.

Jeff's big chance came vs Bama when John went down. Any TF would have been scared in that situation. JB started the next game because JD ws injured at the end of the Bama game and Weis hardly gave him a second look. Brissett got the majority of the sideline help till John could take the field again.

agreed. very tough situation for him to come and have his cherry popped. coming in as a TF against a huge and confusing defense that was already revved up and had taken one QB out the game, I dont think any TF QB could handle a situation like that. also, JD came in with really high expectations for himself and from the fans. After that game his confidence was probably shot. Then, as you said, Cholly didnt really give him much of a second look. Gotta hope he can rebound from a tough situation like that. It might take some time. Maybe give Jarrett Lee a call and ask him

IMO, as much as people would be against it, I think Driskel and Brissett could be used in a 2 QB set all year....and have it work. It won't be like the days of Leak/Tebow when you knew who was going to run and who was going to throw. Gives an opportunity for some trickery as well. Coach Muschamp HAS said that they could end up on the field at the same time in a game.

I understand where you are coming from whith that statement...but you do realize he was a true freshman last year, right?

Obviously. My points remain that this seems like the Kodi Burns story 2.0

Kiehl as a true freshmen did not look good passing the ball. Based solely on what I saw, granted there were not that many attempts (thankfully in my view), it would be an upset if he became a proficient passer. He might. I think the other way is most likely.

His rushing stats were also paltry. Consider he was sacked only twice for minus 8 yards. Here is his split.

att yds ypc lng tds
76 327 4.3 22 3

One would expect with his raw tools, running a primarily read run package that was likely put in just for him, with Dyer and OMac to take primary attention from the defense, if he made good decisions his numbers would have been much more impressive. The clip I posted earlier was a sample of what happened most times he was on the field. To throw two picks on 12 attempts when defenses expect you to run when you are in the ball game is not a good sign.

I thought Moseley was going to win that battle, to be honest.

I hate that idea.

It brings back too many memories of the Brantley - Burton - Reed 3-headed monster. No good for one person or the team. Everyone is put in a bad spot.

Ummm... those are the stats against Virginia in the bowl game.

He ran the ball 76 times last year...

My apologies. I grabbed the wrong line on my copy paste. I will edit.

True, but you knew (85%) that Burton was going to run, Brantley was going to pass, and Reed was going to hand the ball off. You could tell what play would be run by the QB in the backfield. That won't be the case with Driskel and Brissett. They can both throw and run. It would just help to keep them both fresh and less banged up in the long run.

It was exactly the oppisite last season. Everytime he came in the game defenses new he was going to run. 76 rushing attempts to 12ish passing attempts... it was very one sided and tipped the hat to the defense.

Its a read-run scheme. Just because you know he isn't going to throw the ball doesn't mean you know who is going to run it. My point is still correct and I stand by it.

That monstrocity beat Georgia though! That was hilarious.
