Murray State is a solid team with very good hitters and clutch pitching. They show a lot of grit and determination, which was on full display tonight. If you didn't watch the game, they overcame big adversity in the bottom of the ninth. With one out and a player on first, Duke appeared to hit into a double play. The runner to second was called out, and the Murray second baseman tripped over the Duke guy sliding. The initial call was interference on the Duke runner, which resulted in a double play--game over. The Murray players began to celebrate, but "not so fast," as the inimitable Lee Corso would say. The Duke coach understandably contested the call. After the review, the call of interference was reversed. The Murray players went from jubilation to shock. This is then where the grit and determination took over. The Murray players kept their cool, especially the pitcher, Graham Pellham. He took the mound, threw his pitch, resulting in a bouncer to first. Then began the victory celebration. I hope they go far in the series.

Murray, Kentucky, where the school is located, is in the western part of the state, Calloway County, which borders Tennessee.

Kentucky is a great state for softball. Has been forever.

But it's kind of you to still be obsessed over a year later

Yep...the school is 7 miles North of the Tennessee/Kentucky border.

Louisville had missed 3 of the past 4 NCAA baseball tournaments until this season -

Louisville basketball had won a combined 38 games (13-13-4-8) over the 4 seasons prior to winning 27 last year -

not sure exactly what Louisville is solidifying - more like recovering

We were at a bar/restaurant last night and I saw that “double play” and was getting upset

My wife asked “since when are you a big baseball fan and why do you care about Duke?”

I said this is postseason and that was a total bullshite call, whoever wins needs to EARN it…

I’m so glad that horrible call was reversed

and congrats to the Racers, hope they do well moving forward

Glad they could get back in it after our CWS appearance last season.

Relevance your honor? The post was specifically about Louisville solidifying themselves as the baseball team in KY, SC was not mentioned. Trust me...we are well aware of our struggles.

I dont think any CU or SC fan will argue that Coastal right now is solidifying themselves as the baseball power in SC...but again that has nothing to do with a statement made about Louisville that 1801 disputed.
