If these frickers are dumb enough to do this when everyone is looking just wait until they are older and no one is.
Even if they don't get any jail time for this want to bet they won't be in the pen for something else long term by the time they are 25?

Not sure if serious...but if so, first guy that hit the ref was definitely also white, the second guy, can't tell.
Based on one picture and last names, they're both Hispanic. Now are they white Hispanic? That's the question.

Reynolds?
Why is ethnicity being discussed?
Assault charges is the issue.

After seeing the film 3 or 4 times I'm inclined to think that both guys are either white or hispanic.
A little independent research correlates with the article cited by the OP.
According to a roster found HERE the second assailant, #81, is Michael Moreno, a 6'3" Senior free safety weighing 170 pounds.
The initial assailant, #12, is not listed on any roster I could find except this ONE. According to it he is a sophomore named Victor Rojas. It lists him as a running back, but it lists only one position for any player.

Not in the least.
And I enjoy your posts.
I'm just trying to understand how and why this story became about ethnicity.

Because someone postulated that it might be considered a "hate crime". Probably someone who, like myself, is still very confused as to why some crimes are "hate" and others aren't.
Politics in a football thread. Shocking!

I heard they are checking into it to see if any coaches were involved. Anyone else hear that? Could have just been someone saying they are investigating all parties to see what the reasoning behind it is.

I saw that two players had been ejected earlier. If that ref ejected them I think we know the motive now. That and the ponytail.

They have the right idea.
Officials want HS players who hit ref to 'never play again'
quote:
According to a report, the referee wants to press charges against the players and an officials association hopes to end those kids' football careers.
"The first thing we want is that those two kids never play football again," Wayne Elliott, secretary of the Austin Football Officials Association, said.
The referee who was attacked, Robert Watts, spoke to TexasHSFootball.com and said, "Libel and slander have already been committed against me. I will be contacting the appropriate people soon and any statement from me will come at a later date."
Watts is lawyering up and preparing to take action. One person we have yet to hear extensively from --?? and we should very soon -- is John Jay HS coach Gary Gutierrez, who needs to explain how this happened and if it was ordered up by any member of the coaching staff.

Looks that way.

Breed has been accused of telling players “this guy needs to pay for cheating us,” before San Antonio Jay’s defense took the field late in the fourth quarter.
