He literally told him he needed it because someone was faking, meaning he intended to use it against said faker.

There is no evidence that Miller understood what was going on beyond getting a text that we don't even know that he read let alone fully comprehended.
And remember Miller turned over dash cam footage as well as his cell phone as evidence to help clear his name. That evidence was used to get Miles to change his tune.
This has all been reported by multiple news sources.
