He took you to a final four for the first time ever while beating really good UF to do it. Why doesn’t he get one bad season? Frank was way better than this. Lmao

he had one tournament appearance in 10 years. He could not recruit, he could not have a prepared team at the start of the season. SEC fans think he was okay because the end of the season we played our best ball but we would play such a shite OOC schedule and lose a few of those games. One bad season my arse

He got aggravated at the fanbase which is stupid when you put a barely watchable product out there. His style was not fun to play in, or watch.

Then he said he got fired for winning...which is a lie. Dude had a losing record after the final 4

It was already won by us before the game. 2 wins vs 0.

Not sure how this was a battle given LSU already had 2 conference wins. Completely expected to lose this game since it was on the road.

Maybe we’ll beat Georgia at home. Otherwise I think they add their names to the record books.

I was frustrated at some losses earlier in January and was casually saying we’d finish 0-18 and by God I think they actually will.

No way this just doesn’t take a toll on a team. Mentally they’re finished now, they just took a lot longer to get there than me as a fan. I think they’re done.

Seems like BYU got better after Mark Pope left and UK got worse?

ahh yes - Frank Martin - the coach who took Gamecock basketball to many depths after program highs - the loss to DII Augusta State with Frank still having 3 key players from that Final Four run comes to mind - classic Frank -

he also recruited a few air-gun/paint-gun sharpshooters who went on a fun shooting spree around campus and downtown Columbia one year - too bad he couldn't lure any basketball sharpshooters to campus in his decade plus at Carolina -

his outward disdain to recruit AAU circuits and local SC talent along with his antagonistic and ultimately alienating relations within the Ath Dept - just like he did at K-State - gave Gamecock fans much pleasure while watching him verbally undress players and pitch f-bomb laden fits on USC's bench during games -

he actively told the entire roster to leave USC after he was not retained - the most damning & telling thing about that was - only 1 player followed him to UMass -

Frank was ahead of the curve pre-NIL/Portal with annual roster turnover - he and Calipari basically had new teams every year - except Calipari's players were McD AA's while most all of Frank's were recruited from their jobs at a McD's -

Lamont Paris won 25 regular season basketball games in his 2nd year at USC - Frank Martin never won 25 regular season basketball games in any of his 10 seasons at USC - not even with 3 future NBA players in Thornwell Silva Dozier on the same team -
