Thanks George! On Draft Kings I see Bama as -315 favorite right now.

lots of Saturday doubleheaders and multiple weekday games.. Anyone analyzed this strategy? I assume this would be good for a team, especially getting reps to some of the younger guys..
Yeah it’s to establish our guys and make sure everyone has an opportunity to prove themselves before conference play. We don’t have any midweeks for the last few weeks of the regular season

I like the idea.. it makes a lot of sense.. is there a limit on the number of games that a team can play each year?

Im not sure…probably?
All I know is we play 56 regular season games this year

ETSU will be tough today. 12-3 on the year, #43 ELO, wins over App State, Pittsburgh, Miami Ohio

Dawgs should spot them 5 or 6 runs early and then show them who's boss.

Lets not do that. 3PM is way too early to get pissed off on a Tuesday

Per google..
From start to finish, the Division I baseball season means 132 days together for the players and coaches, and teams may play in more than 50 games (56 is the maximum number of contests before the postseason)
That wording seems strange to me, but maybe there is a reason.

Imagine part of the over-scheduling was anticipating some cancellations or postponements that Georgia weather typically provides but just didn’t materialize

In Huntsville for work this week. Looks like I'm going to the Auburn game at the Trash Pandas stadium tonight.
ETA- Just saw Auburn is playing Auburn Junior.

Georgia with the rare early lead, 2-0 after 2 innings.

ETSU sitting at 12-3 ain't too shabby.
Haven't had a chance to watch much of the other SEC teams so far. Hoping to catch a glimpse of as many games on today's schedule as possible before league play starts.

We are doing the classic midweek 9 pitchers in 9 innings strategy. Halfway there but I imagine a blowup inning from one of these guys is coming

Robbie Burnett doing his best to beat Corey Collins’ HBP record from last year. He’s fully embraced the role as the lefty who does nothing but crowd the plate, get hit by pitches, and crank home runs to Kudzu Hill
Collins in ‘24: 28 HBP, 20 HR in 60 games
Burnett in ‘25: 13 HBP, 9 HR in 20 games

Why is the Auburn vs UT Martin being played in Huntsville?

ETSU hits another HR. Down 3-2 to the Dawgs in the 6th
ETSU ties it on a WP. 3-3 in the 7th

A guy in the office here says this isn't the first time Auburn has played an early season mid-week baseball game here, Auburn played an early season OOC basketball game here, Alabama played an exhibition basketball game here, and the CUSA basketball tournament is here starting this week, and the SWAC had its baseball tournament in Huntsville a few years ago. Huntsville leadership is trying to market itself as a sports town.
Specifically for Auburn, it makes sense. Half the people in this office are Auburn grads.

UGA takes the lead on a bases loaded balk
UGA has scored 2 runs on no hits, 2 walks, 3 HBPs, and a balk in the 7th inning

Thanks. It sounded like a tournament or something but it makes sense if it's Huntsville marketing thing. The downside is no television option.
