Pretty sure it was after Kick 6.

Clemson would not have had time to score 35 on that D. No way in the hell they would have run 99 plays.
A competent passing game keeps Bama O on the field and reduces the 3 and outs drastically.

Probably so. Injuries hurt Bama this year.

Last year they almost looked unstoppable. Their closest games were a 5 point win over Ole Miss. A game which they were down 24-3, and came back to make it 41-30 before some late scores made it 48-43 for the final. And the 10-0 game against LSU was the other one. Most of the final scores were Bama by around 20+. Kiffin leaving, plus Sark calling a crappy game, and some injuries against Clemson cost them a perfect season and championship. And even that was a last second loss.

The 16 teams' defense ability to score TD's was one of the most amazing things I've ever seen in college football.

Agreed. It's a damn shame that team didn't bring home the trophy.

The abortion of our offense at the end of the season, thanks to Hurts and the OC turnover sabotaged that season.

In a Bama vs. Bama matchup, give me whatever team is going up against Jalen Hurts. I just don’t think he could put up very many points on any saban defense

Yep. Hurts' natural limitation plus the OC chaos at the end of 16 was just too much to bear, we could have survived one or the other but not both.

that defense was filthy. it's a shame they had to be on the field for 386 plays while Jalen Hurts played tiddly winks on offense

False. 16 was probably the best minus the QB position. Because of that, give me the 15 team with a dominant D, Coker at QB and Henry at RB.

Coker probably needs Henry or CLK -- one or the other.

With Tua and Sark we would have destroyed Clemson. By 24 at least.

Eh I put that one on Sark and CLK. One was a drunk and the other a complete arse-hat (but a helluva OC when he wasn't trolling or about to take a new job).

You wouldn’t have given up 35 or whatever if you had an offense that could consistently sustain drives, your defense was gassed in that second half

A to the Men. A UT fan understands it better than a lot of blind Alabama fans. For the record, Teague isn't one of those fans I'm talking about. (I thought you were responding to Teague but in review I see you were not)

As to the question: Yes, I think with Tua or Coker, the 2016 team would have been better than 2015 and especially 2017, what with all the injuries.

That is true but we really did win it. The refs stole a 3 pete from us with that illegal no call of the pick play.

I think you're forgetting that he was a true freshman.

So was Fromm this year, and he was kicking Alabama's arse till Tagovailoa (another true freshman) came in the 2nd half.

I know you don’t know what you’re talking about because you don’t realize the level of coaching that went into that 2nd half performance

That was the week after the Ole Miss loss in ‘15. He and Klatt were yucking it up that Saban had turned Bama into a big, slow, B1G team.

If Hurts wasn’t the starting QB then you would be right .
