The 16 team which didn’t win the NC was the best of the 3.

Put Coker or Tua on the ‘16 team and they beat Clemson by 20

Tua was amazing, but to think the kid is going to be what he was in the second half of that game is setting him up for a MASSIVE sophomore disappointment.

Don't get me wrong, he may be great, but to expect him to be that at all times is insane.

Read the first half of my sig. Some of us do.

ETA: Speaking of my sig. I wish I knew what year cowherd said that shite so I can put the date on there and make him look even dumber when folks see WHEN he said it. lol

I don’t expect him to be great at all times.

Thing is Hurts was a mediocre passer. If Tua can be at least a decent passer than that should be good enough.

Fans absolutely expecting him to be a Heisman winner and a top 5 NFL draft pick are potentially setting themselves up for disappointment.

Good enough reason to claim this as a championship, too, IMO.

That was on Sarkisian

ETA: it did take the air out of the sails when Bo went out, but Sarkisian sucks.

You think we could put up 55 points?

He's not going to be perfect. He wasn't perfect in that game either. The thing is, he has so much talent around him, "pretty good" is going to equate to great production. And he's better than pretty good. There's a reason a lot of us expected him to beat out Hurts, and it's not because we'd never seen what he can do. He came into games all year and the offense immediately transformed -against the same teams and players that Hurts was facing the series before. I'm not one of those people that always likes the backup.

Oh, and to answer the question, True. The '16 team was better, top to bottom. We just handicapped ourselves on offense with a QB that wasn't good in the passing game and it bit us in the arse against Clemson.

You wouldn’t have given up 35 or whatever if you had an offense that could consistently sustain drives, your defense was gassed in that second half

Tua made a ton of mistakes in the 2nd half of the NCG. He was still good enough the make the plays when he needed to.

Tua is the best passing QB Saban has had at Bama and that should scare the hell out of other teams.

If Saban can win a NG with a average QB as the starter, no telling what will happen when he has a good to great QB.

I still haven’t fully recovered from the 2017 team, so please continue to give us ailing Dawg fans time. Thank you

Chances are that, if the 2018 team stays healthy, you'll forget all about those three teams.

Are you saying Tua won’t lead a national championship comeback every game?

I'll take my chances with a sophomore who can spin it like Tua.
