Because you lost to them when Saban was your coach and it was hilarious

And at this point, that game probably means as much to yall as last year's Troy loss means to us, very little.

Red is so redundant it would probably another color

Tulane was the only green school
Sewanee and LSU were the only with Purple
Tech, Vandy, and now Mizzou have black and gold.

Troy wasn't in Greece. It was in the NW area of modern day Turkey.

Troy Trojans? And why don't Bama and Auburn ever play them?

I want to see Saban pace the sidelines and lose his cool when they lose to the Little Trojans.

Didn't UAB beat LSU while Saban was coaching them?

Damn, 7SU gets beat by Alabama, Troy, and UAB on the regular. Shame another program in this state can't seem to do it to complete the sweep.

Aeneas, a Trojan, is the reputed ancestor of Romulus and Remus and a great hero of Rome as well.

Don't forget Virgil's Aeneid

Because every damn non-LSU fan will do what they always do.... talk sh!t about it. This board will talk about the LSU loss to Troy for probably years, and talk like their team never shite the bed in game.

Guaranteed that if LSU were to play Troy again and win by 40+ this damn place would still talk about the 24-21 loss.

Because unlike the other ignorant fan bases in the SEC, Bama and Auburn know the quality of athletes in the Troy program.
And they are scared to play them.

Because of scholarship limitations, a lot of "secondary" schools in the south are fairly good.... southern teams tend to be....

However that is not the reason for Alabama not playing another Alabama school (other than Auburn.) Why hurt the fan base when you do not need to? A lot of Troy, UAB, Jacksonville, West Alabama, and UNA fans are also Alabama fans.......

Edit to add- it is the same in a lot of the surrounding states as well...

I was referring to other fan bases in the SEC.
Auburn and Bama are well aware of the talent at Troy.
You’re smart not to schedule them. :)

George W. Bush was still President when that game took place. Not only that but we had just gotten off probation that same year, had less than 85 men present on the roster, and were deficient in terms of overall talent and depth. Not only that, the team had practically given up on the season after the 41-34 loss to LSU and the 17-12 loss to Mississippi State.

That game was frustrating to watch but there were reasons as to why it happened. Alabama also went on to win five national championships over the next nine seasons.

On the other hand.....

This is only half true. Alabama lost to ULM with middle tier talent and demoralized players. LSU lost to Troy with a roster filled with top tier talent. While LSU hasn't been recruiting nearly as well as Alabama has, they consistently bring in Top 10 classes every single year. If I were you, I'd be concerned about that loss to Troy and not quite so quick to forget it.

Your loss to Troy in '17 is another signal marking tDecline while Alabama's loss to ULM in '07 was merely a bump in the road on our way back to greatness.

Never said anything about which loss was worse.

I said the troy loss doesnt mean much to us anymore, at least not to me anyways.

Ah, yes, the excuses. Every time Bama loses, there's are excuses. LSU had excuses for losing to UAB in 2000, and Bill Clinton was president when it happened. We even have an excuse for losing to Troy in 2017: Ed Orgeron is our head coach.
