Man I really am scare if your air raid offense this year. Y’all are going to light us up.

Also, this game was so stupid. fricking Bo Pelini and fricking Ed Orgeron register to change from a 4-3 man coverage defense. Wow Ed O was a terrible HC

Should be 3-28. MSU player crawled to the end zone on 4th and goal in 99. Lucky for MSU there wasn't replay then.

Nah, he lunged and made it. And made it on the play before that anyway.

KJ Costello would set a record throwing for 623 (!!!) yards and 5 TDs against LSU, starting the fire underneath Coach O’s previously cool seat (miss him yet?)

I remember that majestic night.

The SEC was scared of Leach for a grand total of 1 week though.

Turned out LSU only sucked

Fun football fact:

LSU has started their season 0-1 more recently than State.

LSU is winless against Mississippi State when a QB breaks the all time single game passing record during the game.

State cant beat LSU without having a record setting performance.

KJ would go on to throw 1 more TD the rest of the year while finishing 4th to LAST in the nation in QBR before being benched by Will Rogers.

Any idea what the record is for total yards from each team in an SEC Game. I know it's more likely more than this...but I immediately thought of the '97 Tennessee/Kentucky game.
Manning threw for 523 yards, Couch threw for 476, and they combined for 7 TD passes. Jamal Lewis ran for 129 yards for UT, and Derek Homer ran for 142 for Kentucky...it came to a total of 695 total yards for UT and 634 total yards for UK.

That's 1,329 yards of offense in one game. Zero defense was played on that day.

Because he had no more games against a team with Eli Ricks in the defensive backfield.
