Why is McCaffery more "versatile" if he can't run the ball on downs 1-3 in the NFL?
He can if he wants too.
McCaffery is more versatile because he can line up outside and be a threat as a receiver. He's the perfect RB if you want someone to get the ball to in space.

He would be perfect for the Saints....
But
1st and 10....do you hand the ball off to McCaffery?
2nd and 2-3.....do you hand the ball to McCaffery?
3rd and 1.....do you hand the ball to McCaffery?

P.S.
Remember a few weeks ago when all of the experts were saying Dalvin Cook was the best RB in this draft?
He's dropping like a rock!
Supposedly, NFL people aren't thrilled about his circle of friends. That is going to be scrutinized ad nauseam after the Aaron Hernandez stuff

Bookmarked for when Cook gets drafted b4 LF7

Gotta have something to talk about in the off season amirite

Leonard Fournette and McCaffery will go before Cook

Thank God the draft is only two days away! Lol

I agree on McCaffery. People give him a lot of shite because of his size/conference but the dude toted the rock as much over the last 2 seasons as Fournette did in all 3. While there is something to be said for being able to take a hit, there is also something to be said for not getting hit in the first place. Again, I'm not saying he's necessarily better than Fournette, just that the notion that he can't be an NFL back is ridiculous. Does no one remember Warrick Dunn but me?

I love when NFL scouts over analyze players who are clearly once in a decade type players. Carolina Panthers will take LF as the first RB and will zone read teams into submission in the red zone with a 260 lb beast of a QB and a 235 lb beast of a RB.

He's a 202 pound running back.
He played in a soft conference.
His numbers were heavily inflated by KR yards. He is a weapon not a bell cow.
He is maybe a better Darren Sprolea (who had some great years in the right offenses) but he isn't a Peterson or an Elliot or a Murray.

LF didn't do much in the passing game because Les not because LF. I watched every LSU game at least once. LF rarely dropped a pass when thrown to. Had some outstanding runs off passes, including one of his better truck jobs in the Ole Miss game. If they uses him that way, he could be putting up Marshall Faulk receiving numbers. LF is a good receiver.
The difference between LF and Mccaffrey in the passing game is that LF may be a great RB at catching passes, but Mccaffrey can easily become a slot receiver.

Dunn was 5'8" and ran a sub-4.35 40. His height was a hugely underrated aspect as he could hide behind his line while the hole developed. McCafrey is 5'11 runs Way to High, ran a 4.48 and is going to get killed in the NFL running upright the way he does. McCafrey is fast but not anywhere close to some of the RBs who have come out. It sounds like everyone wants him to be the next Chris Johnson because of similar size and abilities but Johnson is way faster and way more explosive in his cuts. Don't know if McCafrey will be a bust but I just don't see him being an All-Pro... which is what a top 10 draft pick is suppose to be.

McCaffrey killed the combine. He has all the tools. His family is also known for overachieving. I think he's going to be really good.

He had a great combine.
1. So do a lot of guys
2. Compare his positional drills to similar RBs in the league and their combine results and it will put things in perspective
Is he impressive? Sure, but nothing that jumped out and said top 10 talent.

.. He's 200 pounds and does not run with power. I hope the guy does great but he's not ideal size and doesn't have a power back dimension. So he doesn't have all the tools.
Fournette has all the tools.
