We should all keep in mind that these kids have more to them than what we see on Saturdays in the Fall and not judge them by the colors of their jersey or how they look. It takes a guy with a big heart to do something like this. It won't help his draft status or get him a corporate ad deal.
I, for one, have new found respect for this young man. What a guy !

Great story. Classy move by Trent.
No but one town in MS does. Prom Night in Mississippi (could be NSFW language).
this was in 2008. Charleston, MS high school has a tradition of holding 2 separate proms. One for blacks, one for whites. Actor Morgan Freeman offered to pay for whole prom if they allowed it to be integrated, and caused a huge raucous across town when they agreed. There are 10 parts on youtube making up the whole video.

doesn't Alabama still make schools have 2 different proms?

I know Trent is a good guy but it's hard to pull for someone that is that good and going against your team on a yearly basis. Now that he has moved on I'm a fan though

As much as I tried to hate the guy during his collegiate career, I just couldn't bring myself to do it.
This is just another reason for me to like him outside of his beast mode on the field

Let me go on record as saying that I have never liked an opposing SEC player more than I have liked TR over the past three years and it has nothing to do with this topic.
I wish so badly he could have come to LSU. I actually enjoyed watching Bama play just to see him because I thought he was amazing.
I've always been against taking running backs high in the first round of the draft, but if I was an NFL GM I don't think I could pass on him.
All that said, he also seems to be a really great guy.

This sounds disturbingly like a man crush.

This is true. I've read many stories like this through the years from players of all teams. Hell, Auburn may even have a kid or two with a few redeeming qualities.
