LOL

Fatony is top5 in Average, and top 3 in Net. Scott is in neither.

Harris and Guice both averaged around 3.7 per carry.

So, to be clear, you, Y O U, are saying that Harris running against LSU's 7th in the conference rushing D, is an equal comparison to Guice, running against Bama's 1st in the conference rushing D. And that with LSU playing 2 or 3 TRUE freshmen on the oline?

What has Guice done to earn All-SEC honors this year?

I'm not actually sure Guice does deserve to be All-SEC this year. Johnson is the clear runaway choice for best back this year. The problem is there is no clear second choice. Maybe Guice, maybe Snell, maybe Chubb. All I know is Guice deserves it before Harris. Though of course that's not something Gumps like you can reasonably consider.

Harris is better than Guice and its really not close. That's a ridiculously stupid statement even for you, internet user Tuscaloosa, which is saying something.

Find me the last great back, who deserved to be an all-conference back (which is the point of this discussion), who couldn't even get 10 carries a game. I'll patiently wait.

You also might want to take note of that elite QB Harris has. Exactly what do you think Guice would do if he had Hurts as his QB? But you might want to take off the crimson colored glasses to see that clearly.

All I see from you guys is a bunch of “If, if, if.”

The All-SEC team is about production. Harris produces more every time he touches the ball, has scored more points for his team, and has two more touchdowns than Guice - and he’s done all of that on 66 fewer carries.

Guice doesn’t rank in the top 2 in the conference in a single category.

We were without 5 starters on defense that night.

Based on what? I keep asking that, but you haven’t given me an answer other than saying Harris should have more carries.

You’re saying that because you’re an LSU fan. That’s pretty much it.

Scott’s punts have allowed 5 return yards all year and went 10 weeks without allowing a single return.

So i guess all sides have conceded that Kerryon Johnson is the best RB in the SEC and front runner for SEC POTY?

I think he's arguably the best running back, but he is both arguably the best and clearly has the best stats. He should definitely be the 1st team RB because of that combination.

I don't know about POTY yet. Too close and big games left to go.

We were without more than that early in the year when we lost to State and Troy, but we didn't get any slack for that. You guys have a herd of 5 stars sitting on the bench waiting for their turn. No excuse at all.

That’s quite a pivot. You were comparing rushing stats in a single game and your primary argument was the quality of our defense. That argument doesn’t hold water, because we were down almost 50% of our starting defense that night.

True but who else, Hurts? Who else would be considered a contender besides Hurts? Snell Jr.? Holland?

I think that a combination of a Harris or Hurts huge game against Auburn with a pedestrian game from Johnson would swing it, yea. At that point Alabama is 12-0 and Auburn is 9-3 and either Harris or Hurts will have pretty good stats.

But I guess I don't really know. To be honest I don't even remember who the OPOTY was last year. Was it Hurts?

The kid at LSU probably deserves consideration.

He also has a better offensive line

Harris is also averaging almost as many yards after contact (5.4) as Guice’s total YPC (5.66).

If you take out Guice’s game against Ole Miss his numbers are

653 yds, 4.6 ypc, and 8 TDs

If you take out Harris’s game versus Vandy

672 yds, 7.8 ypc (still a whopping 3.2 ypc more than Guice), and 8 TDs

Alabama has a better passing game then LSU.

Alabama’s actually only averaging 5 more passing yards per game so not all that much better.

A healthy Guice is the best back in the league.

These lists are for what a player has done not what a player could have done. Harris has played much better.
