Again, yes, without the Texas and Missouri TV's the SECN doesn't happen.
At the same time, without the SEC, the Texas and Missouri TVs can go frick themselves.
So, you're welcome, SEC. But thank you.
And to keep my penis reference streak alive, We ALL GOT BIG DICKS!!!

A&M fans search the Internet for pro A&M material and rush to the SECr and are like "seeee, seeee we belong too"
Posted on 5/12/15 at 9:18 am to Jabstep
The combo of JFF and the move to the SEC did more for A&M in a couple years than in the previous 50.
You're welcome.
You're welcome.

Thanks, Aggies!
I much prefer your contribution over Missouri's. You bring in tons of money, tv viewers and recruiting opportunities, and for the most part you've been a nice punching bag for us. When you win, you don't cost the rest of us anything important.
Missouri, on the other hand, immediately turned to crap in basketball, loses humiliating nonconference games like Indiana, but then wins the SEC East and makes the conference look weaker.
I wish Missouri would learn from you Aggies. Thanks for everything!

Damn, I have nothing to say against that.
Legendary post.

So by adding A&M (8,000,000 x $16.80= 134,400,000) and Missouri (2,000,000 x $16.80= 33,600,000), the SEC Network makes an additional $168,000,000 per year.
Top money makers for the SEC Network:
Texas A&M: $134,400,000
Florida: $109,200,000
Georgia: $56,000,000
Missouri: $33,600,000
South Carolina: $27,048,000
LSU: $26,040,000
:Big 6:
Kentucky: $24,712,800
Tennessee: $18,202,800 (divided in half with Vanderbilt)
Vanderbilt: $18,202,800 (divided in half with Tennessee)
Arkansas: $16,632,000
Alabama: $13,582,800 (divided in half with Auburn)
Auburn: $13,582,800 (divided in half with Alabama)
Ole Miss: $8,374,800 (divided in half with State)
State: $8,374,800 (divided in half with Ole Miss)
East: $286,966,400
West: $220,987,200 (A&M owns 61% of that )
Total: $507,953,600
How did you get these numbers? Did you just use the number of subscribers by state and assign all of the subscribers in a state to the school(s) geographically located in that state? If so, do you see how stupid that is?
Posted on 5/12/15 at 9:36 am to elposter
The cost per subscriber is a very small fraction if the state does not have an SEC school in it.
If the sec did not have A&M and Mizzou the network would still be in those states but the subscriber dollars would only be around 5 or 10 million in total.
That's how the conference network contracts are designed.

That's a fair point and explains the reason why geographical footprint is important. Doesn't really explain the numbers and reasoning behind KCM0Tiger's post though, which is what I was curious about.

Last time I checked, Alabama athletics is pretty sound financially. In fact, only your daddy Texas makes more.

His numbers are close to the raw revenue of the SECN this past year.
LINK
But each school's "contribution" to that number is absolutely weighted by cable subscribers in the school's state.
That's why the SEC added TAMU and Missouri, not schools in small population states like OU and WV.

I for one don't need any "thank yous" from our new conference members... the SEC has been the best run conference in football since at least the early 90s, it makes both the old SWC and the original Big 12 look like clown shows, there is superior competition, not just in football but accross all sports, the exposure is superb, and I am happy to be here, finally.
Sure we kicked in tv sets, and happily had a Heisman phenom that helped the tier three rights numbers at just the right time and we all collectively got a little richer.
Since joining I've been to several road games, the other schools have friendly and welcoming alumni and fans, the games are far more interesting (even if we lose) and our one older natural rivalry with LSU, even though there's a lot of smack talk, is cordial and collegial and fun to tailgate and party with before and after games.
There is no other conference more deserving of whatever we bring as a member. The SEC is the best.

No.Never.Rumor has it, by the turn of the next century they will have running water and electricity though.
