Buford won state championships in 2019, 2020, 2021. Raiola couldn't get them out of the 3rd round vs an inferior opponent imho. I saw him play a couple times. Uga dodged a bullet.

His hometown is in Arizona. He and his family have lived in GA for less than a year.

No he’s not from here. He moved to Buford and took some other highschool kids starting spot to be close to UGA. Then flipped. pretty wild tbh. Honestly it’s probably for the best after all this weirdness. Including a bizarre poem he posted tonight. I’d put money on him portaling out of Nebraska after next season and going to somewhere else in the SEC.

Great poem!
Said he didn’t want to be part of Cogswell Cogs so he flipped to Spacely Sprockets. It happens.
Not like we never lost a 5* QB before.

He actually started his career at Burleson near Ft. Worth under Jon Kitna. Then he went to Chandler. Then Buford in GA. But his family is originally from Hawaii.
My guess is he'll start his career at Nebraska, but it won't end there.
Edit: Chandler had won 6 state titles since 2014 when Raiola was there. He couldn't get the title there, either.

I have really enjoyed Nebraska’s demise so this is distressing.
Well old Big 8 cuz, we’ll see but it’s nice to at least have some hope for better days ahead. I’ll enjoy the moment for what it is right now.
Georgia of course will be fine either way. They just reload now up and down their roster. Georgia won’t be going away anytime soon.

This is the reason UGA has not lost a regular season game in 3 years and Tennessee has won one that was meaningful in that same time frame...anyone in their right mind would pay for a known commodity as effective as Beck has been, who has been in the system for years, instead of a high school kid not matter how good that kid looks on film. UGA won 2 nattys with a walk on QB...one most fans including most UGA fans were convinced was lousy. UGA does not need a Heisman candidate QB every season to be successful...it'd be nice but it ain't a pre-requisite

I guess we will see if the smokeyone approved vol strategy of throwing away a full season for a $9 million dollar recruit who didn’t even play enough to build towards next year works out.
