OU also owns longest in history at top, 47 straight.
Here’s the 47 straight bookmarked by tx and MZ.
Outscored shorthorns 119-28 in 5 games. And because of how conf doled out bowl games we never got credit for natties in all the years, only some.

An SEC winning streak in which you did not beat a single SEC team?

And yall talk shite about the old SEC East schedules.
Most of those teams were strong in name only then
But 47 straight is still a damn strong accomplishment

Nearly half of them were shutouts.

Yes, that is impressive, but it’s 70 years ago.

OUguy didn't say it was an SEC win streak, you did.
53-57 SEC had a single shared title., Auburn shared with Ohio st.

I have always thought it was strange how OU (and the Big 7/8 for that matter)...never played SEC teams in the regular season.
The only SEC teams OU played post WWII and before 2000 were a home with Vandy and Kentucky in the late '70s and early '80s.
OU played PAC teams, ACC teams, Big 10 teams, and what were known as independent teams (FSU, Miami, ND, Pitt, Syracuse)... but never SEC teams.

The answer is obvious. OU was already playing one tough out-of-conference opponent with Texas, so they didn't want to add another possible loss to their schedule

The two easiest SEC teams. That's some smart scheduling

Just to cause trouble, you should have done the longest current win streak in the SEC…
First place is Texas at 3 games.
Second place is Florida at 1 game.
Tied for third is the remainder of the conference at 0 games.

I bet they do have the longest winning streak with Texas right behind them. Look at the teams you were playing. Lol if you would have played an SEC schedule, they would have been much different. You can’t take credit for playing cupcake, teams, and blind schools with their playbook in braille

I realize this is a smart arse answer...
But OU played Notre Dame a number of times when ND was really good. They played USC a bunch of times when they were really good. They played Ohio State in a home and home when they were really good. Those three programs were as good or better than anyone in the SEC...
It just seems strange that they never scheduled any SEC teams.

The SEC today isn't what it was in the 50s. An SEC schedule then, might only have five conference games. Those might include Tulane and GT. It was not the gauntlet it is today.
Look at some of these head to head records of the better SEC teams.
LSU v. UGA
18-14-1
Alabama v UF
28-14
Tenn v. LSU
21-10-1
By contrast OU and TX will play for the 125th time this season.
Creative scheduling let better teams avoid playing each other. Maybe pump the brakes on historical strength of SEC schedules. The evidence doesn't support it. Sure the conference has been the best in the last twenty years. In the fifties not so much.
The Wilkinson era Sooners streaks between 1949 and 1957 yielded a 100 game record of 94-4-2. It will never be duplicated.

Alabama beat Auburn to end last regular season...then beat Oklahoma in the cfp before laying an egg vs Indiana. Did lose to Georgia in the SECCG...but that was the postseason like the Oklahoma cfp game was.
What am I missing?
