Auburn gets everyone back but Holland and his back up played strong all season. Coe will continue to develop into a force. No way they won't be top 3.

Is Russel staying? I thought he was going. Your DLine was definitely good this past season, though. I hated we missed on Derrick Brown. He really looks good.

Amazing how Auburn had the best Dline this year and loses 1 player and aren't in anybody's top 3.

Blasphemy!!

I guess Russell is staying then?

ETA
Just looked it up and see he decided to stay for his senior year. That's huge for Auburn.

We’re losing a probable 1st/2nd round LT on our OL but I have to agree that our unit should still be one of the best in the league in 2018. Rankin was out for quite a few games with an injury and our OL didnt skip a beat when we subbed in Elgton Jenkins.

The DLine speaks for itself. Two first team All-SEC lineman in Simmons and Sweat return in addition to adding Chauncey Rivers who was raved about in Fall practice for his pass-rushing ability. Our depth here is very capable as well and will see a lot of favorable matchups while those other guys are getting double teamed. Our DLine will take over some games next season.

It was more important for him to stay than Holland IMO. Russell is a plugger than allows everyone around him to make plays.

That is highly underrated talent....nd like you said, it is very, very important to a defense. Kids don't understand the importance, and it's hard to sell the idea to recruits. most want their names to be front and center, but the NFL understands and values the pluggers.

Russell, Brown, Williams will be back inside

Davidson, Coe outside...Davidson drops inside on obvious pass rushing downs.

TD played buck and played well for Holland. Played much better than Holland against UCF. You could tell Holland was playing not to get hurt.

Big Cat showed some good signs in limited play as well.

Russell, Brown both have 1st day draft potential. Brown has 1st round. Davidson is also a obvious draft prospect. He was hurt most of the year in small ways so I am hoping a healthy junior campaign we will see him full bore. IMO Coe has the highest ceiling of any of them, but is the rawest.

Good stuff, but Elgton was always a starter. It was Greg Eiland that subbed in for an injured Rankin, and somehow we didn't really miss a beat dropping from a top 3 round LT to a RS FR.

First of all, I sad ours is as good as anyone, not better. And I’m right. Overall rushing stats and the value you place on them are irrelevant. The lines don’t call the plays, they just block. We also had a guy top three in rushing and rushing yards per carry in SEC games. You can’t tell me that the second best offense in the league, one that utilized two different quarterbacks and returns seven of its eight linemen(including a certain first rounder) isn’t. You simply could have said they might be. But you chose to posit that they weren’t good, which is an ignorant take. It may be true that only OM fans, and Phil Steele, consider our line elite but the facts say you should too. I’m just trying to get you up to speed.

Are you disputing that before the season they were considered in the bottom half of the SEC and that the stats throughout the year agree?

Being in the bottom half of the SEC is not very good. I don't know why you're so defensive about this. It's Ole Miss - notoriously bad program with a few outlier years of having a good team that always crashes. And this year was a return to the norm for Ole Miss. It is what it is.

Yeah, I would say Auburn should have one of the top 3 DLines next year, then. Very stout.

Any list without Auburn is stupid.

Davidson and Brown are are Carl Lawson and Monty Adams 2.0. Both entering their junior year, and will probably take another step forward. Coe was a beast this year as a RS Freshman, can play both inside and outside and rush the passer. Russel might be the most underrated player on the dline.

Holland gets all the hype because he gets the sacks, but he benefits greatly from the guys around him. He did excel at getting QB's to the ground when he got to them, something Lawson struggled with at times during his career, but TD Moutlry and Big Kat will have no problem getting after the QB next year. Will no doubt be the strength of our team next year.
