Why does it bother/threaten some of y’all when other universities in our conference do well?
A rising tide lifts all boats; so excellence at one school spreads to others.

The insults and defensiveness shown by some folks in these threads is misguided.
All SEC schools are sources of pride in one way or another.

They haven’t earned it, but they talk like they have.

They have shoehorned themselves into so many conversations that you’d have to beleive is 7-8 kids getting paid minimum wage to troll the board on the frequents.

The Try-Hard is soooooooo thick in here.

Actually, we are indeed a part of the SEC.

Not sure what you mean by “us,” but you can bang your head about our conference affiliation all day long (similar to the sky screamers who chant, “Not my President!” about Trump).
Doesn’t change a thing.

Ease off a little, maybe?
It’s all good, and life—football season, in particular—is far too short for bitterness.

Then start acting like it
Seriously.

If LSU loses to Texas there shouldn't be one word mentioned because aggy was too scared to play them.

Geez, you take this stuff seriously.

Not sure how you want me to “act,” but your comment in your previous post is incorrect re: the Ags and horns series.
It’s logistically gridlocked right now, but the game will eventually be back.
Neither team is “scared.”

And if LSU loses to UTex, the horns happened to be better that day.
And vice versa, should UTex lose.

It’s a game.
Relax.

Why is that embarrassing? We have decent standards based on SAT/ACT, GPA, class ranks, etc. Better than almost everyone in the SEC. We have a lot of qualified applicants. If we want to continue to stay a large school that is filling a need of educating Texans then need to accept ~30k a year to get incoming classes of 10k.

Welcome to the South where we see higher education as a conspiracy by the liberal elite to inculcate our young people with socialism. If it's not a trade school, it's a waste of time and money.

We take pride in the separation of athletics from academics. The acme of which is probably LSU, where fans once actually had to ask if the cancellation of classes for a fall semester would affect the football team. "Well, the Athletic Department is completely separate from the university!!1!"

19. Texas A&M (I'm sorry, but your acceptance rate is more than 70%. That's embarrassing).

You need to look at the quality of students who apply.
There’s nothing embarrassing about it.
We have thousands who qualify, apply, and aren’t accepted.
I think you forget how large our state is.

U of Richmond is the shocking one on the list. I always thought it was a commuter school.

ACC 9 > SEC 4 out of top 25

List seems legit.

I have been to Richmond, I know they are a typical liberal arts school that didn't have a high profile reputation. I lived in the Hampton Roads area and the main school you heard about with any high level reputation was William and Mary. Just surprised me.

I don't know of any private school that's considered a commuter school.

U of R is a pretty cool campus.

I once thought Alabama had the most insecure group of supporters on the planet...not so much now.
