I can't believe there is anyone attempting to argue that Henry was better than DMAC. DMAC carried a mediocre Arkansas team. He'd have been a no brainier Heisman winner had he played for Bama. DMAC is the best running back I've seen in my lifetime, with Fournette potentially taking that spot next year.
It's kind of like when Alabama fans claim AJ McCarron was better than Johnny Manziel. He wasn't.

Darren McFadden was so much better than Derrick Henry.

For some reason people have a hard time with context

I'd put DMac over Henry. The guy even threw for 7 TDs. Top 3 are Herschel, Bo, DMac. The next two are debatable.
Agreed, and there's a pretty sizable gap between #3 and #4.

I expect Leonard Fournette to jump up the list after 2016.

A lot. As a pure running back Henry is better.

You were like 13 when McFadden was at Arkansas.

In fairness, DMac had 785 carries. Henry was blasted for having less, and his rushing numbers would have been better than Dmacs if he had that many. But DMac brought more to the table.

Henry was an absolute stud this past year, but McFadden had an incredible career and if he had any kind of QB play during his 3 years his numbers would be even better. Watching what he did to LSU is one of the most impressive performances I have seen. People forget how awesome he was because his NFL career hasn't been much.

In his only season as a starter?

In Herschel's three seasons, his average yards per carry were as follows:

1980: 5.9
1981: 4.9
1982: 5.2

For a career average of 5.3 yards per carry.

And yet you call him the GOAT when you laugh at Henry's 5.6 YPC average in 2015?

be? It isnt even close. It's like comparing Jake Coker to Cam Newton.

Henry was an above-average talent SEC RB who won the Heisman because of his defensive front 7 and because he got a historic number of carries

People's ability to withhold credit where credit is due is mind blowing on here.

Too bad DMC shat his pants when it mattered most. Can't say that about Henry.

Really?

McFadden ran for over 200 yards at #1 LSU in 2007. Has any one player ever taken over a game like he did that day? Not in my lifetime.

The year before in a top 12 matchup against Tennessee, McFadden ran for 150 yards in the first half alone, threw for a touchdown and made Phil Fulmer quit.

In 2006, Arkansas played at a ranked South Carolina team. McFadden had 130 yards at halftime.

Say what you want...but don't say McFadden didn't show up when the lights were on.

He had less than 3.5 ypc against us in the SEC title game. Didn't cut the mustard on da biggest stage.

Henry had more td with much fewer carries. not tough to grasp. and he had over 200 yards as well on undefeated L5U..

May be one of the most idiotic statements made on this board so far this year.

4.30
3.75
4.39

Henry's YPC in the three biggest games of 2015, according to your criteria.

And Henry certainly averaged more than 3.5 YPC in the SECCG (especially against Missouri).

Oh no! McFadden didn't have as many YPC in one random game against a significantly better opponent. The horror.
