Interesting to note household income and not individual.
Off to go find a Sugar Mama and will come back once in the club. In the meantime, got some solid Vienna Sausage recipes if anyone interested.

Average income is 28k. And the sad thing is that virtually all of the money is concentrated in Washington, Benton, Pulaski, Garland, and to a lesser extent Faulkner and White counties.
The rest of the state is in rough, rough shape.

What about net worth? If you make $500k a year and spend $600k you are not top 1%

That’s crazy. With my daughter now out of the house, my wife is switching careers to teaching and makes $5K per month as a pre-certification, teacher trainee in Virginia. That’s basically just a step above “long-term substitute” on the pay scale. Very entry level.
I know our cost of living is 52% higher than MS, but those MS numbers look low.

I know what you're saying, but honestly who is blowing 600k a year that still can't manage to live like a king??

Same, but I’ll say this: I’ve lived in Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, and Miami, Fl. When I had an opportunity to move back home to Mississippi in 2015 I didn’t hesitate, and I’ve never regretted it. So I’ve seen what’s out there, and y’all can have it. Give me Mississippi, and more importantly, her people, every time.

Tax burden seems in line with others, including VA

Also when you add Cost of Living, those numbers in terms of real income (inflation adjusted) are going to be a lot different. Texas does measure well in that there cost of Living is 93%, whereas California is 134.5. So take California Income of 844,000k divided by 1.345 and real income is $627,509. It would be real interesting to take median household income and divided it by those Cost of Living factors.

Regardless, this stuff is getting to be bullshi*. Perhaps we need an Economics forum for this Mizzou poster so he can go to a forum that seems to suit his interest.

Is this one percent of filers or one percent of people? My guess is 1 percent of filers... I wonder what percentage of the aggregate population actually clears that much when you account for old/young/spouses who are not in the numbers.

It’s almost certain to be filers, rather than all citizens.

If that's total household income we're moving to Mississippi so we can hang with all the bigwigs!
