Sorry about the trees, Auburn fans. That is an absolute shame. It might be cool to put up a couple of small bronze replicas as a memorial, and plan new trees too. It's a great tradition, and I'd hate to see it end.

Thanks, Semo. I'm sure the University is doing a lot of things to preserve the memories.
It's hard to share a state with a fanbase that is so disrespectful of absolutely everything to do with another school.
I hope you get to visit for a game and see just how special a place Auburn is - not quite the cow pasture or trailer park others would portray it but a beautiful campus in a lovely small town!

After reading this thread, I have determined that I'm a bad person for being an Alabama fan. At least that's how some of you make it seem. I don't condone what he did in any way, but I don't agree with using this idiot and a small portion of the fanbase to paint us as the worst in the nation with the worst fans.
This was one fricked up and disturbed bastard. Not the whole fanbase. Stop acting like the Alabama fanbase is worse than any other. The reality is that we have idiots just like every other group of fans in the country. That includes LSU, auburn, and any other team that pops in to your head.

The most pitiful part of the whole Bama/Updike/Killing Trees saga are the sick Bama Fans who treat Updike like a hero. I don't see how any fan can approve of Updike's actions. It speaks to a lack of intelligence when I see this. And then there are those who proudly where shirts praising Updike!

Join the club. ALL AU fans are judged to be "bad" because we refuse to admit that AU bought Cam Newton. Admit it. And then tell me if you're ready to admit that bammer provided extra benefits in the way of suits and fishing trips to your players. If not, then you're a bad fan, according to the latest rules.
