Jay Jacobs has been firing HCs with a quickness since the Chizik debacle.
I don't know for sure, but you have to wonder if he started sweating his own job security after the Chizik debacle, with all of our athletics struggling.
He's certainly decided to look competent since then.

at least let the guy get back to campus and fire him tomorrow. That was pretty classless of the Auburn AD

That would be a good hire for them.
A terrible career choice for him.
This. Some Mizzou fans have thrown his name out there even though Haith ain't getting fired any time soon.

@GoodmanESPN: Rick Stansbury will try and go after the Auburn job, sources told ESPN. Not sure yet whether he has a legit shot.

Only one coach in the NCAA keeps his suitcase packed at all times

@DanWolken: Barbee took the wrong job. Left a loaded team at UTEP, should've stayed one more year

Probably. But if he wins at Auburn he could also punch his ticket about anywhere.

I don't mind it. The guy got paid millions to suck at basketball for four years. When you get paid that kind of money you are getting your arse fired quick.

last year would have been quick, at most. Not many teams in nation would have kept him after this year.

Grant's staying. Don't pull against our team.

IMO, Jacobs should still be on the hot seat.
There was the baseball attrition of a couple weeks ago that seems to have died down, Barbee's been fired, we no longer dominate Swimming & Diving, can't beat Bama in gymnastics, WBB is doing okay, Equestrian is top 5, and Gus is kicking arse but overall Auburn athletics isn't setting the world in fire

Exactly. I'm sure coaches will be lining up to work for that AD.
