Cincy should be in the top 4.
Nope. Cincy's SOS is ranked #101. Kudos to Cincy for scheduling & beating ND. But they also scheduled 3 weak non-conference opponents: FCS Murray St. (3-5), Miami-Ohio (4-4), Indy (2-6). To really earn a top-4 CFP ranking a G5 needs to schedule and beat several quality P5 teams.
Bama still has to play and beat LSU, Arky, Auburn and Georgia to get in. OSU has to play and beat Mich St, Mich and the B1G-West winner. Oregon & OU also have to win out to get in. But "Cincy "should be in the top 4" just for beating ND and winning the AAC?

WTF? How do you come up with these two thoughts in the same post. You complain about people not associated with athletics and advocate for guys who couldn't tell a football from a vagina?

If they used the standard BCS model:
Computer rankings:
Based on the concept of a computer-only model, dropping the highest and lowest for each team (as per original BCS rules), you get (I did 8 teams - Georgia, Alabama, OSU, OU, Michigan, Cincinnati, Notre Dame and Mich State):
#1 Georgia (Avg 1)
#2 Michigan State (Avg 4.5)
#3 Oklahoma (Tie) (Avg 4.75)
#4 Michigan (Tie) (Avg 4.75)
#5 Cincinnati (Avg 5)
#6 Alabama (Avg 6)
#7 Ohio State (Avg 6.25)
#8 Notre Dame (Avg 6.75)

Go frick yourself. I don’t understand college football? I’ve followed college football for 40 years. And a playoff, a real playoff, could work. Just because you’re too dim witted to see it doesn’t mean shite.
You expand the playoffs, you kill the regular season importance and everything that has made college football great.

If they ever use computers again, I hope they pick some that aren't trash.

It’s pretty simple. If Bama wins out and somehow beats Georgia they’re in. If they lose before then or to Georgia they’re out. It’s not a big deal. Only butthurt whiners care at this point.

This is actually pretty spot on, IMO.
That is the one thing I always liked about the computers. They didn't care what name is on the front of the jersey.

When did "signature win" become part of determining the best teams?
what determines "best team"?
If it's the roster on paper, why play the season?
If actual results matter........bama does not have a signature win and has a bad loss. There are several teams who have a better resume than bama at this point in the season.
Those are just the facts.
Some people ought to think less!
Ole Miss was 6-0 top 10 team and Bama put a whupping on them. Miss St. was 4-2 and had caught fire with both their offense and defense.. they are ranked in the top 20 in the CFP'S initial rankings.. Bama should have left College Station with a win and undefeated still.. but, for whatever reason upsets happen. aTm is playing as good as anyone in the country at present time..
Miami has beaten 3 ranked teams.
The Tide beat the snot out of them. Tennessee has been improving and Bama made a couple of mental errors or else I doubt they score anything..fla was undefeated at 3-0 or 4-0 and ranked #10 I believe and we beat them in their house.. fla came out of that game with a lot of injuries.. it was a war of wills and Bama prevailed!
Good enough for ya? El Comprehende?

only solution is a true playoff where teams play their way in on the field. Name doesn’t matter, “style points” don’t matter, only thing that matters is wins and losses. Until we get this, FBS college football, the greatest sport in the world, will forever be a glorified beauty pageant.
I agree with the premise, but you have to have more equivalent scheduling. There are 32 NFL teams, how many are in FBS? Cincy is the same as UCF from a few years ago. A predominantly cupcake schedule shouldn't put a team in the cfp.
All of this said, I could see UGA, MSU, OU, and Oregon as the first 4. It will work itself out by selection day.

now do the resumes of the next three teams behind them.

It’s nothing more than a glorified poll, no different than the AP or Coaches poll. You still have the same thing, people deciding who they think belongs where. It’s asinine we still choose the champion of the world’s greatest sport in the same manner beauty pageants are decided.
Here we go, AGAIN! With a quarter of the season to go and all of November mayhem in front of us, we are about to get 20 pages of the playoff committee's reckless behavior as if this were the actual teams to get in. Bloody November is upon us people.
No one would be satisfied with the finished product when so much of the season is yet to play out? Why do stupid fans, who have the patience of a 2-year-old, continue to emote so hard in the moment?
