Something tells me the Alligator was sitting on this story for a while.

Stricklin putting out that statement yesterday, and now this today isn’t a coincidence

100%. This is a power play, but it's a political chicken shite pp. If you want him gone, say it out loud. Instead, they are using the "Independent" Florida Alligator.

Yeah, while I make no bones about my dislike of the press in general, the alligator is a bunch of lefty students who have no problem slinging bullshite at people. Not only will they frame something to totally mean something else, they will find anyone with an axe to grind and make them an unnamed source.

Still not defending Golden, but the Alligator is a bunch of punk arse bitches.

Yeah I gotta think Stricklin is gone and after Billy loses out, he will be too.

UF always likes to look like Dudley Do-Right, so this is not going to sit well with the boosters or the Board of Trustees. They give winning coaches a hard time when they do something that makes UF look bad, much less these frickos who haven't won shite.

Why would Stricklin have anything to do with this? Wouldn’t this fall on him almost as much as Napier?

Not to mention Golden is his prize right now. Young up and comer who’s probably about to have Florida at the top of the SEC for a long time?

I think your question should be why wouldn't Stricklin have anything to do with this? You are correct, Todd Golden is his best hire, and even though I like Golden, he still hasn't won anything.

It's Occam's Razor and really obvious.

Boosters: We want Napier gone.
Stricklin: I don't. I want to give him more time.
President Fuchs: I'm not interested in sports.

Stricklin releases a statement saying Napier will return next year, and says "Now, I call on all of Gator Nation to continue standing behind Billy and his dedicated team".

The very next day, the story is published by the "Independent" Florida Alligator alleging sexual misconduct by Stricklin's best hire, Todd Golden. The allegations are very easy to prove or disprove, including sending dick pics. The story is based on two anonymous female students, who said “And he sent us all the same sh*t. It was copy-paste to every girl.” The article also states, The first woman said "this misconduct goes beyond Golden. She believes there is a culture of sexual harassment within Florida’s coaching staff". Again, very easy to prove or disprove and handle quickly followed by a statement.

I don't know. What is this direct message with "vanish mode" they are talking about? Hopefully they can access the messages and either prove or disprove.

i think what y'all are trying to say is this:

there's a history of this kind of conduct under Stricklin's watch (women's basketball scandal from earlier this year or last year).

now it's happening again.

if Stricklin doesn't do anything about it, it's his arse.

him coming out with his support letter for napier is basically saying, "i'm leaving soon. support my guy once i'm gone."

it's probably all a ploy to get rid of Stricklin and/or Napier. Napier would be a stretch in this scenario since it has nothing to do with him. but his protection would be gone.

Hi, I'm UF Athletic Director, Scott Stricklin. I'm retaining the worst UF football coach in our history, producing an abysmal state of affairs, only reached during World War I, World War II, and The Great Depression. I've hired coaches that called our girls little fatties, were abusive to female basketball players, and my best hire is a basketball coach that snapchats pics of his penis and stalks women. I'm just a country boy with a marketing degree from Mississippi State, but I'm a testament to the heights you can reach when you put your mind to it.

Napier is only still here because Stricklin keeps vouching for him.

So while he had nothing to do with this particular scandal, Napier and Stricklin are tied to the hip in the big picture.

I posted a tweet from someone yesterday after the Napier announcement saying that someone in the media needs to say all that's going on in the UAA - mentioned lot of drama, staff / coaches dating each other and so on.

BRING BACK theCAW. He was right about everything.
