You’re about to accidentally figure out what we’ve been trying to tell you this whole time.

Losing this lawsuit would mean they would never have any license to punish anyone, ever.
I have known this lawsuit has had nothing to truly do with LSU.

They were simply the ones who gave the SEC leadership enough to finally go after to start this process.

But postponing makes little sense.

If they don’t go ahead with it at some point, the SEC will ultimately be as neutered as the NCAA.

Part of the hearing today was the SEC gaining ability to self govern and block state courts
Exactly, which is why concessions on LSU’s part should have little impact on that.

Not as neutered as they would be if they outright lost.

Thats clearly what they’re afraid of.

It makes a lot of sense. They knew that they wouldn’t get the relief that they were requesting.

While I think this is highly unlikely...

Its possible they came to the realization they are already as neutered as the NCAA...

Then they are just holding on to borrowed time here.

What exactly did y’all win?

It may not be a win, but the entire rant will get more time to start threads about LSU, all the while telling LSU posters that they are flooding the board with the LSU drama

Look the rant right now
EVERY thread started by any other school is about LSU. Not one thread about anyone else

Like I said, you’d eventually get there, even if by accident.

They’ve decided to cling to what little power they do have, instead of reaching for more.

Which is sad because the entire college sports system needed to be reined in.

Then a conference needs to wait on a slam dunk case, and then do what the SEC was trying to do here.

The fact that there was a chance they could lose is exactly why they’ve backed off.

The SEC picked the wrong fight.

The concept they are arguing doesn’t even require a defendant, honestly.

That is why this reaction is confusing.

The argument is to be able to expel someone/discipline despite the rulings of state courts.

Take LSU out of the equation and it can still be argued for.

Technically not, but it strengthens their pitch.

In case you haven’t noticed, the courts don’t seem too inclined to let these entities police themselves.
