To the Aggie fans, where does 74-72 fit into your history?

As an LSU fan, this is an olive branch post. I can understand your excitement at winning in an epic fashion at home in front of your fans. Not knowing anything about your history, where does this fit into your football program? Is this a top ten game? Top twenty-five? I know at least a few of you were there. Would like to hear what it was like.

Note: The LSU fans are going to come in here and rain on your parade. That is a given. I would ask you to ignore their comments and post around them.

My opinion: Top 25, maybe?
Not because it carried any sort of post-season significance (it really didn’t), but because of the madness of how it unfolded—which made it memorable.

Aggot beats a better program once about every five years on average. That's all it is.

It’s just a game from last year. The fact that it gets under your skin so badly makes it fun to bring up.

The LSU fanbase has done nothing but make excuse after excuse about losing. Since there is so much angst it’s just an easy endeavor to keep ripping the scab off and watch y’all time after time froth at the mouth and sky scream.

My skin?

Does it bother some LSU fans? Yes. Me? Nah. In the end it had absolutely no impact on the final standings.

Just trying to see it from an A&M perspective.

Was the final score. Any other pithy observations? Comments?

I can live with this. From an Aggie perspective, it was an epic win.

It ain’t you, Wolf. You’ve been gracious from the beginning.

Generality for the base.

I’d agree with this. In history - not a top 25 game. In our SEC history - top 10 - like the OT win at home against Tennessee. Again, because it was an OT game with lead changes and great plays. Maybe a bit more significant because LSU was the last program in the SEC that we’ve played but hadn’t beaten.

Doesn’t rank near beating Alabama at their place or Auburn in the snap-Fumble game.

it was a whatever game between two teams with no chance at anything interesting. It was fun because of this place. But thats it. Probably top 5 SEC win
