I am annoyed by the level of group think here.
Whatever, I will ascribe it to trolls, or "the human condition". Regardless I often see people engage with a disappointingly glib opinion and then defend it to the death.

I wish people would think for themselves. TM needs some real friends that can tell him 'No'.

We can't accept that since Mathieu got beat once as a Freshman by Joe Adams for a TD and that Bama managed to complete a whole 4 passes (0 TDs though) against him in January that he is completely overrated and will never amount to anything. Am I right?

I don't have a problem with People scrutinizing Mathieu's frick-ups on the field. Every great player gets that. Cam Newton, Tim Tebow, etc. We were all ready to jump on them if they screwed up. And they did, often. But they also got the last laugh. If TM7 finishes on the field, he'll be the one ripping on us for doubting him.

Maybe you should go back and try to comprehend what I have been saying again. Not one time did I say he was the greatest DB of all time. I've said he is the best player maker on defense since Charles Woodson (including special teams) which is hard to argue against.
As far as DBs go I don't think he's the GOAT nor do I think he was the best even on LSu's roster last year or this year, but he will still the best play maker on the field on the defensive side of the ball in every game he plays this year.

LSU fans are in denial. Mathieu is dominant in zone, but he CAN (not always) struggle in man to man coverage. It isn't his height that is really a problem. It is his "I'm better than this WR and shoudln't even try." attitude.
