He hasn't been our #1 corner ever.

When he was a freshman he was at best our #3, but most of the time our #4 corner behind Peterson (first round pick), Claiborne (first round pick), and Simon (freshman)

Last year, he was our #3 corner behind Claiborne (first round pick) and Simon (sophomore).

This year, he will now be our (at best) #2 corner behind Simon (junior), and TM7 will still almost certainly play his role as "I frick shite up" position on the field rather than cover corner.

So that's why.

LSU fans are in denial. Mathieu is dominant in zone, but he CAN (not always) struggle in man to man coverage. It isn't his height that is really a problem. It is his "I'm better than this WR and shoudln't even try." attitude.

Has any LSU fan contested this statement in any way in this thread? Have you even read this thread?

Don't forget that was an arky fan you posed that question to. It will take bit while he googles for an answer.

Nobody said he was Revis. I'm just saying the kid can flat out ball. And he's actually better in man to man than what most people are saying. He gave up 4 catches on 1/9 and now all of a sudden he's a bust, won't be drafted til the 5th round, and didn't deserve to be in New York. And we're delusional.

No one is saying this, and most people said his man to man was iffy before 1/9.

LuLz. That was a flop worse than Dirk Nowitzki trying to get to the foul line and you know it.

3) A 8 yard gain
Figured an LSU fan would downplay #3. An 8 yard gain that should have been a 3 yard gain, but since TM7 can't tackle bigger WR's by himself, he got trucked and gave up more yardage. No, he's not a great corner. In zone, sure. But if he's ever alone, it's a major advantage for the wide receiver.

If that was a flop then Williams caught the ball.

Take your pick.

All of the jewels to choose from by Wade and Lebron and you choose to pick on Dirk?

Is it because LSU players can't do such vile things on the field or outside of bars.

Or is it because you don't want to acknowledge he was beat and then "held" with a closed fist.

There's the Bednarik, Camp and Heisman people, then there's blogosphere Bob. The discussion past this is , well, pretty obvious. Considering the source would probably end this thread.
