You forgot to put Troy on your list.

It’s pretty simple, these FCS schools NEED the money.

If they can’t afford to play football without scheduling these games then perhaps they shouldn’t be playing?

All P5 and 9 conference game

Do games against the likes of Illinois, Oregon St, and Kansas really move the needle more than ones vs Boise St, UCF, and Houston?

Instead of complaining about playing G5 and FCS people will complain about playing the dregs of the P5 and start demanding the P5 reduce their numbers.

I think SEC schools at least not playing division 2 schools is a big step in the right direction. We can discuss playing the dregs of P5 schools when we come to that point.

Most fans of P5 schools would consider Kentucky to be a shitty game that should be boycotted.

Same for A&M.

bullshite. If P5 schools were required to schedule only P5 schools there wouldn't be the ducking game that's going on now. Hell, teams might even have to play more conference games.

I agree now your team first. No school is going to put themselves at a disadvantage first. This is going to take some kind of NCAA rule intervention. (I nearly threw up typing that)

Several teams on your list don't qualify as "cupcake", most notably OK State

I don't think scheduling somebody like Northwestern would be a good idea the week before you play the preseason #2.

Not really a cupcake per se, but the list was talking about teams that a top tie SEC team should beat based on talent differential.

I doubt many of those teams want a home and home.

Exactly and the dregs of the P5 will have no fans when they start winning max 3 games a year.

It's like people are oblivious to the fact that Miss State only beats Alabama about once a decade. The gap between the top and bottom of the P5 is probably bigger than the gap between the average P5 program and the G5.

A P5 scheduling FCS should be done away with, yes, but there's nothing wrong with scheduling a G5 school. I find some of those matchups entertaining, and many of the G5 programs are just as strong as the lower P5 programs.

There are no SEC schools that play DII squads.

FBS
FCS
DII
DIII
NAIA

Why do you guys bitch so much about these games? The teams you listed would almost all want a home and home. These games are not that bad. It's fun to watch your team score 50. That doesn't happen every week

Why doesn't every team just play one FCS team? I haven't understood the hatred.

Yeah - okie state would beat half the SEC. Baylor was a top-ten program until recently.

Hard to call most of these cupcakes - especially when you have to schedule them 5 years out.

Texas Tech would get rung up by most SEC teams...that bombs away Mike Leach mentality doesn't work, has never worked and wont work. Sure you score points...but you give up a lot more points. Look at WV, bombs away and their record I think was 7-5? No defense and average at best run game spells L-O-S-S-E-S.

Charleston Southern would beat that crappy high school team A&M played last night and probably beat em by five TDs.
