Yeah I am not a fan of him on ESPN. He and Verne are about equal to me.

It was so sad to watch him and Mark May argue at the end of College Football Final. I thought Lou Holtz was going to have a stroke on live feed a couple of times.

Sumlin and Muschamp aren't even in the top 10. I believe Sumlin has 2 more years on his contract and Muschamp just got to USC.

Art Briles and Charlie Strong should be in the top 10.

Les Miles should be #1. He is the only coach which has had the board openly discussing his firing for multiple years now.

After the way Alleva fricked up the Miles situation this fall, Miles could walk in Alleva's office today and take a shite on Alleva's desk, and he wouldn't be able to do anything about it.

If Les can't get it done this year with potentially 6+ first rounders (according to Walter football mock draft) and an experienced QB, he never will. Another 3 or 4 loss season and he's done, IMO.

In fairness, I don't think there are many people that could sit in a room for very long with Mark May without having a stroke.

#2 Kevin Sumlin .692 winning at TAM

His reaction:

quote:

"Wherever I've been a head coach and whenever you've been that guy, you know that you get paid on results. And like I said, from my standpoint it's—there are two ways to look at it. It's "What have you done for me lately?" I get that. And like I said, over the course of time, there's no doubt this program is better than it was, from every statistical deal you can have. And can we get better? Yeah. So from an urgency standpoint, there's always been a sense of urgency. "When I got here and people said, "I don't understand why you're going there, to play in the SEC West." And in that short period of time, we've created an expectation, which is a good thing, for people to say, "Hey look, here's a team that just basically was coming into the SEC and was hoping they could survive" to a team that's expected to win. "That's an expectation that has been created since we've been here, and we don't run from that. And that should never change. And to get to that expectation was not easy, but to answer those expectations isn't easy either. So from my standpoint, there's always been a sense of urgency, and that will never change."

Sumlin has had 8+ wins in each of his 4 season. He's had a top 5 national finish, a Heisman winner, and produced a steady stream of 1st round draft picks.

Meanwhile, SEC fans have said that A&M would finish last in the SEC and not even make a bowl game every year accept for 2013.

Gus is weird, if he goes 7 wins he probably gets fired.

If the season looks like 2014 where we had an ESPN win% >50% at some point in the fourth QTR in 3/5 losses, he doesn't deserve to be fired

Honestly, what would you expect or demand last year from him, and this coming year? I don't think some really understand how difficult it can be to win at Arkansas.

Weeks and weeks dragged on with tons of speculation about Les losing his job and your AD didn't nothing to squelch the speculation and rumors. Then he gets toted on the shoulders of his players in the wake of the aTm win like it was his farewell tour in Tiger Stadium. The LA governor shoots out a vote of support via social media and then your AD finally makes an announcement that Les' job was saved.

After all of that drama from last year how could Miles not be on the list?

Stoops is not going anywhere. It takes time to bring in talent players, now he's bringing in talented coaches. The offense will get going this year and contend for the SEC east next year.
Defense wins games in this conference. He's got to get the big uglies we need on the lines to win games. Our skill positions are fine. He did not trust Dawson last year to run the offense and it showed. Gran is an old buddy from FSU and Hinshaw is an extension of that as well. He did good things at Tennessee. We have to shore up the defense. He knows that m. And he needs to leave the offense the frick alone and let them do their thing.

He's under contract through next season. He's not getting fired this year no matter what. And I like the progress we made in years one and two. Last year was a setback due to locker room conflicts obviously. He made steps this offseason to rectify them, we should be back on track, and I look forward to another season of steps forward.
