Tiger Stadium is so itimidating that even LSU had to burn a few timeouts and suffered a delay of game penalty.

They got rid of Miles, but they couldn't get rid of the clock management issues.

I'd say it had a lot to do with how Hurts played at times.

Is every single player on an opposing team supposed to be rattled for a game environment to live to its billing? I understand this thread is a troll to rile up some angry coonasses at work (which it will undoubtedly do), but there's nothing "overrated" about Tiger Stadium.

Maybe overrated in the sense of "zomg u can nevar win here!'", but as a game environment? It lives up to its billing, and objective national media pundits will attest to that.

There were no clock management issues. The delay of game had to be taken because you don't burn your last timeout in a tied ball game in the fourth quarter. Ed O can't help Etling went retarded and burned timeouts early in the third.

Crowd noise is overrated in the sense of having an impact on the opponent. Players on the field decide the outcome. Electric crowd will usually will pump players up. In that regard Tiger Stadium is great atmosphere.

In reality, a really good team is not affected by crowd noise...

As far as just being a loud, popping stadium, I have been to most SEC stadiums and LSU is at the top. You could probably make them a 1a 1b 1c with a few other stadiums.

No, but I didn't see a single player that was affected by it.

I don't recall any delay-of-game penalties against Alabama, and only 1 forced timeout...nothing unusual there.

The only one was when we were punting from about our own 15 or so.

This.

The players and coaches who have actually played there say its one of (if not the) toughest. All this other talk is for the birds.

If so, please tell me why LSu's winning % against Alabama is better in Tuscaloosa that it is in Red Stick?...just asking.

Hell, Alabama's winning % in BR is better than LSU's is against ALL opponents.....that's incredible.

Because stadiums do not win games. Players and coaches win games is the simple answer and is the only answer
