"Is this what we want football to be?" Nick Saban opines.
"Yes!!" they reply giddily.
...some time later...
"This is not faaiirrrr!!! You're ruining college football!!1!"
Progression of blame and rule making in college football:
1. Saban and Alabama out perform the competition under current set of rules.
2. Whining begins that Saban and Alabama break the rules or have an unfair advantage.
3. Saban warns the college football world about making poor rule changes.
4. College football makes new rules that are supposed to limit Saban and Alabama's success.
5. Saban and Alabama adapt to new rules and out perform the competition under new rule set.
6. Whining begins that Saban and Alabama break the rules and have an unfair advantage.

Who is Bill Knight?
Bill Knight Automotive
Dude is like Saban in the sense that he's a car kingpin, but also not since Bill does not appear to be a midget.

Is there going to be a cap or nah?
This is an endorsement deal. There will be no cap on this because it is not a compensation from the university.
Does the NBA cap how much money Lebron can make with Nike? Mahomes with State Farm?
No.
A salary cap will come when student athletes are reclassified into student employees who are compensated by their university employer.

So what you're saying is Saban is an evil genie... you wish for something, but are not specific enough and get crushed by the weight of mountains of rules lawyers who know how to abuse the lack of specificity?

How the hell is a NIL deal communist? NIL deals are the most capitalist idea you could possibly have in college sports.

The jock sniffers wanted this and said it’d be good for the athletes and didn’t understand why weren’t in favor of it, but they never stopped to ask what’s in it for fans? What’s in it for alumni?

There's nothing unfair about this. I hope an athlete can get paid if they can.
I have no issue with players profiting of their NIL at reasonable going rate. What it’s becoming is straight pay for play from boosters.

I'm convinced by message boards that most Americans think communist is a label for anything you do not like including the very mechanisms of free market economics.
