Yea that’s quite pathetic and just not giving a crap by ESPN to try and change the games and show the top 3 matchup instead.

Looks like weather in Oklahoma and Kentucky. Hope they are able to play tonight.

Well, note to self for future seasons: 29-2 heading into the 4th week of SEC play does not qualify for elite status if the pitching doesn’t look as pretty as the general consensus wants it to (even if the offense leads the league in seemingly every meaningful category and the team has proven to be insanely resilient)

Agree but sweeping Florida right now isn’t an accomplishment for anyone

I think sweeping any SEC team on the road besides Missouri is an accomplishment.

That's actually kind of sad. SEC is a different beast

Not sure about that, Texas is really beat up and lost its best hitter.
It should be a good series. But I wouldn't read to much into it either way, short of one team getting swept and looking really bad in the process.

Strong winds from the south on Friday is good for the hitting.

Stronger winds from the north Sat & Sun is good for the pitching.

I'll be really, really surprised if we get this series in over the weekend. They even cancelled Keeneland's opening weekend.

Some interesting matchups this weekend;

UGA-Texas for 1st place (with Tennessee). Chance for either to keep pace, or for both to fall back a bit.
LSU-OU. Chance for LSU to hang with the leaders and separate from the middle of the pack more. For OU, could be a statement series that they're legit.
Alabama-Auburn. Chance for Bama to move out of the middle of the pack, chance for Auburn to get back to or above .500 in the league.
South Carolina-Miss State. Both 1-8, this is basically a chance for 1 team to stay alive if they can sweep, which would likely kill the other team for the year.
Vandy-Florida. A Fla sweep would give them some new life and derail Vandy's hopes.
A&M-Tennessee. This should be a sweep for the Vols, but if A&M wants any hope at a regional they need to take this series and start winning more games.

There, I fixed it for you.

Effectively, this series just slightly reorders the 1a, 1b, 1c, 1d nature of the top of the conference. And then next week we do it again with Arkansas in Athens.

If UGA goes 1-2 this weekend and then 2-1 next weekend, things are mostly going to remain chalk with respect to the SEC leaderboard (barring some upsets in other series)

Worth noting:
- UGA plays Texas and Arkansas
- Tennessee plays Arkansas (and LSU)
- Texas plays UGA and Arkansas (2-1 vs LSU)
- Arkansas plays UGA, Texas, and Tennessee (and LSU)

Odds are long for the Hogs and short for the Vols purely based on scheduling

UGA has benefit of wrapping up its two biggest series over next 2 weeks

This really illustrates something key about the Georgia pitching situation: we aren’t getting shelled, our stuff is overall pretty good. It’s been the walks and the HBPs that have put us in tough spots throughout February and the first few weeks to March.

Over the past few weeks though, the location has been getting better and the free bases are starting to diminish. If that trend continues, this is going to be a monster of a squad to deal with come May/June

You're going to use 9 games worth of stats to say your pitching isn't suspect?
