It’s called the Disney/ESPN universe.
That’s where the shouting heads shout about what should matter more instead of what has already been measured.
The shouting heads are what Elko was referring to.

This committee couldn't be worse. Based on strength of schedule and strength of record, the correct ranking for now should be:
1 .OSU
2. Georgia
3. Indiana
4. Oklahoma
5. Oregon
6. A&M
7.Mississippi
8. Texas Tech
9. Alabama
10..BYU
11. Texas
12.Vandy
13 Miami
14..Notre Dame
.
. It's really not that hard. Just leave out the politics and follow your own guidelines, committee. SOS is king, then head-to-head, and then injuries or other important circumstances.

As I said earlier, the rankings for the CFP are irrelevant until the championship games are finished. You can also see how the committee begins positioning teams so that the final brackets don’t create bad match ups. And by bad I mean bad TV.
It’s not about the actual rankings - it’s about positioning for what they believe will be the best games for TV once everything settles.
For instance, if Bama beats UGA do you think there’s any chance they’d play again 1st round? Of course not - they’ll shuffle to where the only way they see each other is in the natty. That’s by design.

I think everyone hates the committee at this point

You’re in the playoff. You’re gonna have to beat everyone anyways. This seeding bullshite doesn’t matter if if you go on a tear. Nobody thought OSU would win last year as an 8 seed.

You have a better loss than UGA to Bama? Really? You lost to #13, UGA lost to #9.
a loss on the road to #13 versus a loss at home to #9. there is a difference that you are conveniently skipping over.

Were the shouting heads shouting louder than Elkmo shouting about CLOSING THE DOOR?

This isn't new from a coach accurately a coach from somewhere has already been their and done that. Nothing new and you are special in your own mind.

Probably ole Miss. without Kiffin, Yall are undoubtedly weaker

Honest question...where do most A&M fans believe they should have been ranked?

Because the first round matchup for the 7 seed is significantly harder than the first round matchup for the 6 seed.
Ok. Nobody wins the natty without playing good teams?

But then you have the #7 team (with an easier schedule) beating the #4 team on the road. Also, #7 has fewer losses and the only loss is to #2.
This is where SOS and SOR don't add weight to the outliers (good in a way, but not good if it's not adding some weight to the head to head).

A&M is most deserving of the 6th spot
5 probably too high
7 probably too low

I’m an Aggie fan. I think we should be sixth. Who has Oregon beaten?

So they missed it by 1 whole spot?
Holy shite, call the President.

“It’s amazing how many people say that we have played a poor schedule when we have the 15th ranked SOS in the country and the 3rd ranked SOR in the country.”
The teams ranked ahead of A&M with the same record is as follows:
6-Ole Miss-(40)
5-Oregon-(16)
4-Texas Tech-(69)
3-Georgia-(18)
Their SOS is in parenthesis.
I mean, he may have a point with Texas Tech and Ole Miss....to a degree, but Ole Miss was beaten in a very close game by #3 Georgia mid season.
Texas tech, on the other hand was beaten by a 4 loss Arizona State also at mid season. Texas Tech is the head scratcher that he has a legit point with. The ONLY explanation would have to be when they were beaten, and that seems weak, at best. I'm not sure going from #7 up to #6 would be that big of a deal to get upset over, though, and I can't imagine an argument for bumping them higher than #6 above any of the teams ranked higher than them.

Remember when some A&M fans thought losing the Texas game was better for the playoffs? Good times.
Now they're looking at 2nd round game against Ohio St or Georgia if they make it pas the first round

I will lump my answer to Aggie, Tex 117 and you all into one post.
I think 6th would be a reasonable ranking, but I'm not sure I would be as upset as Elko seems to be by a single spot in which A&M will still get a first round home game.
Oregon does seem to have a similar SOS as Texas A&M. (A&M 15 and Oregon 16)
Oregon beat #23 Iowa and #16 USC and they lost to #2 Indiana by 10.
Texas A&M beat #10 ND as their only ranked win and lost by 10 to #13 Texas.
I can see where A&M fans could/would argue to be #6, but probably not pass Oregon, although both seem pretty equal.
I for one am excited to see how Texas A&M does in the playoffs and think you will do well.
