Firstly, the time is very different back then compared to 5-10 years ago with how things are revealed.
When was the affair first made known to the public? The affair started in the 70s but when was it made public? What was the situation surrounding her hiring? It looks like she was around before Wimp even became the coach.

I'll take Petrino because at least he walked slowly and carried a big stick. Nutt was just too much and just kept running his mouth a lot more in his later years.

I think Petrino used school money to buy his mistress a car. I don't know if that is the case but in doing so broke state laws. But even so was still given a chance to save his job. It wasn't like they are going to forgive Petrino and changes weren't going to be made.

Sam wanted the job ever since it opened up. But he wasn't qualified because he only had head coaching experience on the junior college level. Sam was very persistent and his agent kept calling. He was hired either late Saturday or Sunday after Eli Drinkwitz interviewed but was concerned a bout the job security and wanted a larger buyout. This prompted Hunter Yuracheck to hire Sam the next day.
Sam told the media that he would only leave for a head coaching job if the Arkansas job was open.

What kind of rambling is this ? So hiring your girlfriend is worse than just fricking your secretary ? OK, new standard established. The rumors of Wimps affair were talked about for months/years before it was made public by the University. They only did it because she filed a lawsuit. People in Alabama who listen to Finebaum back then can confirm it.

some of our "journalists" blamed it on Julie Cromer Peoples afterward, they all need to be beaten with frying pans
fricktard Mike Irwin led the pack on that. He learned journalism from crippled kangaroos fighting methies at a circus or something

I don't like Mike Irwin but he at least has been around for decades and has some sense of what is going on even if it is bending the truth. He is the most tolerable of the bunch. The rest are complete morons and are hard on the ears. The problem with Mike is that he is very opinionated and will argue for hours over nothing. But that is the best we have which tells how terrible journalism is in this state.

Wait, you don't understand that hiring someone that you are fricking is different than fricking an employee. Do you not understand all the people that applied for the job have an interest now because they had no chance in the first place because of the affair.

Exactly, that is my whole point. He would have been fired much sooner if it was proven and you had a national story behind.

This didn't answer the question of how you know that a guy with zero D1 experience and is on the cusp of retirement is going to turn around that decade long shite show known as razorback football.

The situation is bad enough, you don't have to exaggerate every aspect

Only if it was a posted job. My take it was a job that Petrino assigned her to already within the AD. Wasn't she an employee or former SA at Ark ?

No, most of those cases required turning a blind eye or not investigation at all. People knew what was going on.

Oh it was posted
There is alot of articles out there, here is one excerpt
quote:
Petrino was fired for failing to disclose his relationship with Dorrell, the former Arkansas volleyball player whom he hired last month without disclosing his conflict of interest or the fact he had once paid her $20,000 that she used to buy a car. The payment, Long wrote, could make the school "vulnerable to sexual harassment" lawsuit.

You can say this but can you link any type of articles or stories that discuss his affair before the lawsuit? I could understand your argument if you did that.
