It's definitely odd not having UGA on the schedule. I honestly think that SC should have gotten UGA, Florida, or Tennessee instead of Missouri or A&M... but our schedule would have been brutal at that point. Pretty cool seeing LSU and Ole Miss coming to Columbia though. I'll definitely be making the trip to Norman, OK as well.

Even got some upvotes. Downvotes were available. Received none.

You’re not so good at this reading thing are you?
You can like the pepperoni pizza and still think it would be better with less cheese and more pepperoni, sir.
Think bigger, friend.

I wasn’t saying the two quotes contradicted. I was saying neither quote was true.
Think better friend.
Our schedule is easier than we’re used to. That’s about the only positive. Don’t play LSU, UF or Tenn. Don’t play either MS school. Feels like we’re not even playing in the SEC. OU, A&M, Arkansas, Kentucky, Mizzou….

Absolutely true. Most liked the schedule and felt it was fair.
Some, not all, seemed to be okay if the DSOR died as an annual event. I assume they were not Russian bots. Most were laughing at Bama's schedule rather than complaining about their own.

Yes, they have.
One by the name of King Ward said it pretty straight forward in a response to someone complaining about the new schedule and Georgia not being on it.
"Why? You didn't consider them rivals, did you? They don't view us that way. We have no natural rivals in the SEC. There's only one way we ever will have such a rival. Most of y'all don't want what it would take."
I guess he wants Clemson to join.
I have no idea who "King Ward" is but his opinion is definitely the exception

Alabama fans don't consider a team they've played for over three decades annually, played the Game of the Century against, has been arguably the biggest thorn in their side since Saban has rejoined the conference, has almost always been CBS' primetime matchup, and was the previous school of the GOAT before he left the conference, a rival.
We've played LSU annually since the early 1960s. If you are writing a novel at least get it right.

I would say that's correct and I probably should've put "some" in front.
But I was kind of shocked that overall, there were't many complaints about Georgia not being on the schedule. A few, but not a lot. And the guy who said you didn't have any SEC rivals really didn't get much, if any pushback other than "Hell no!!" to Clemson.

As someone over the age of 50...I couldn't care less if Tennessee plays Georgia or not. Hell, they only played each other:
4 times in the '80s
3 times in the '70s
2 times in the '60s
0 times in the '50s
0 times in the '40s
2 times in the '30s
4 times in the 1920s
1 times in the 1910s
5 times in the 1900s
1 time in the 1800s
Tennessee vs Georgia wasn't really a thing until the contrived regional rivalries were developed after creating conference divisions in the early 1990s.
On the other hand...I would be pissed to lose the TSIO.
ETA...grammatical correction to try to convince people that English is my first language, rather than Appalachian.

Don't deflect! He is spot on. Get it right!

Just seems clear that we were the sacrificial lamb so the SEC could preserve the bigger ticket matchups.
It is what it is. It will be nice to have Ole Miss and LSU in Columbia for the first time in forever.
I am happy I can keep my Nashville roadtrip to Vandy in place.

Just realized my grammatical error...should have said "I couldn't care less"...which I'm still guessing that would be your take as well...

The Bible. Thankfully, it was a lot more accurate than your stuff.

I consider them a rival. But I wouldn’t say they have been the biggest thorn on our side. That would be Auburn.

And you’ll still lose to those teams

1. The game being big has only happened recently. LSU-Bama was basically Ole miss. LSU fans will tell you they've always been elite but they haven't. They are a Johnny come lately. Also, it was a big deal to LSU fans that Saban was at Bama and CBS played that up to several billion dollars to their credit.
2. It's not an instate or border war. No matter how many times UGA plays say, A&M or what the stakes are it will never be what the Florida game is. When you go to Baton Rouge their fans will literally pay anything to get into the Bama game. If I go to Baton Rouge with a hundred dollar ticket and I get offered 800 for it. I'm watching it at the hotel which I have done many times.
3. Game of the century- There have been like 15 of these all over the country. It's an overused term that is used to get sponsors.
4. Auburn and UT are too much in the fabric and have been for too long.

Havne't heard one Auburn fan say this
quote:
Some Tennessee fans are hopeful Alabama or Georgia will be dropped from their future schedule and would be okay if both get a break from having to play Tennessee.
Haven't see UT fans say this
quote:
Alabama is happy they get the bottom feeders of the East because that's what has made Georgia so great.
Haven't seen this said but there would be some validity to it. Playing Vandy, UK, Mizzou, South Car every year is a huge break. That being said, it's not UGA's fault they generally suck.
