But it makes sense if you think about it. The state of Texas is huge, and we are hated by the fans of all Big 12 programs in the state. That alone makes us top ten even without the rest of the country getting involved.

Maybe. No offense, but A&M, despite it having a lot of very brag-worthy claims, is a boring school and program. You don't win enough or get into trouble enough or shite talk enough to become hated, from my vantage point.
Maybe we'd have to be in the Big 12 to appreciate how other schools feel about you. I do think that if you start winning, people will hate you. People hate winners anyway, but they particularly hate winners who they consider boring/dorky/perpetually mediocre.

I think the hate for A&M is bigger than football. Most of the workforce in Texas and in O&G have Aggy bosses. Most people don’t like being told what to do. Simple as that.

Nationally I completely agree with you. Prior to the SEC move our brand was nationally confused with Texas Tech.

That is exactly it. The way we left and the fallout of that decision (aka a lessor Big 12 with ten teams) still irks them.

That is great analysis, people like unique cinderella's in theory but hate when they actually break through. That is why ten years ago Boise St got so much hate.
