I know your fanbase. Most of my family is your fanbase. They laughed when Tebow cried. When McGinger did it....."just look at that passion".
You got a complex

Your fanbase still makes fun of Tebow about it. Am I lying?

The tree poisoning thing while crappy I thought was over done. This guy should be thrown in jail. If that catches with people around and someone gets hurt or killed he would be tried for murder to some degree

And your fan base still laughs at the crying little boy after the Kick Six......your point?

It doesn't change my life one bit. When Auburn won the NC, I had to pay every bill, just like before. I had to get up and go to work, just like before. My life does not revolve around whether Auburn wins or loses a game. That is a huge difference between me and the vast majority of your fanbase. To be fair, I have never run across a field, to beat other people, for an autograph either....so what do I know?

Your fanbase dumped their paw paw's ashes on the field and proposed marriages after Kick Six

Damn, this thread has been hilarious.
I'd love to keep it going, because it's entertaining as hell, but I'm actually feeling guilty at this point.
Good luck with everything, and next time some individual person who identifies as a Bama fan does something crazy, congrats and I hope you get as much self-validation as possible.

There have been Auburn rednecks involved in crime, racist pranks, and appearing on cops. I personally don't latch onto these things and keep some list to prove their fanbase is trash because 1) it's a silly generalization and 2) I don't desperately need that sort of moral victory

Exactly, but was it over a football game?
It's not all bama fans. It's a small percentage of bama fans....but it is a much larger percentage than any other fanbase. Your own coach has spoken up about it. It's not just me saying this.

Yes, clearly, out of the two of us, as the Alabama fan *I* must be the obsessed one.

Hey look, a concession! We're on the right path here.

Honestly, it's because Alabama has (statistically speaking) more fans than Auburn. If you go to the west coast and talk about being from Alabama, somebody will probably mention the Alabama football team before the Auburn one, more likely than naught. Or even if you go overseas and say you're from Alabama, first thing you'll be told is that "Sweet Home Alabama" is an awesome song and "Roll Tide" if they know anything about sports...or even if they don't know that much, they might have heard of the team, or assume you like the color crimson. It's just that Alabama football is iconic. Not saying Auburn doesn't have iconic moments, or coaches or teams or players, but more people know about Alabama football than they do Auburn, especially as of late, because of their success under Nick Saban.
Harvey Updyke wasn't even from the state of Alabama, he is the ultimate definition of a crazy sidewalk fan. That's not something we can help, if people across the country root for the same football team as us, and are going around and committing crimes "in our name", that's a real shame, but that does not hold the entire fanbase responsible for their actions.
Is there a higher propensity for backwoods, "redneck" culture in the state? For sure, but to be fair, there are bums in other states too. I've lived in other parts of the US, and there are just as many stupid people that do crazy sh*t in other states too, that have what would be akin to "redneck" lifestyles...they just aren't into football. Basically my point is, the odds of being a football fan in in the state of Alabama is high. This means the good, the bad and the ugly are all probably football fans. There's just no getting around that. But there is also no getting around the fact that there are "dregs" of society in every single state, that are the way they are without having an interest in football, because football isn't a part of their culture.

Exactly, but was it over a football game?

Just because it doesn't make the news doesn't mean it wasn't either. You cannot state factually that it wasn't - only that it wasn't reported as such.

That tree is fricked, and given the size/value of the tree -- plus the obvious arson involved -- his potential charges are going to make Harvey's look like a jaywalking ticket.

My concession is most of our loud, obnoxious sidewalk fan base annoys the bejesus out of me. However, a lot of us have said that for forever.
