Mullen always run the gimmicky plays to former players. It's his thing in spring training.

The "draft" that they use makes up some odd teams, so it is hard to get a feel for how the team will actually play on offense or defense. Don't read too much into what you saw yesterday.

Hev is a bad recruiter, but he can coach up what he is given pretty well. If you can get halfway decent talent in the door, your O-line will be pretty good. Just don't expect that he will be the guy delivering the goods.

I went to the gators spring game myself. I don’t have intensive knowledge of their roster but I thought Emory Jones looked promising. I’d start Trask and design some stuff for Jones to get his feet wet. I’d tell Felipe he’s done throwing the ball in Orange and blue. He’s a bust and I can’t help but be thankful he didn’t sign with LSU.

Unless you can show me where I've made a UG thread on here recently, well...you're wrong (as usual).

So? Bielema was 3-1 against Freeze and Miles. Including a 31-0 azzwhupping against the former.

You honestly going to sit there and tell me Bert is better than both those guys?

Sometimes things just happen

And almost every thread started by a Florida fan this offseason has been about Georgia.

As I said. Pot-and-kettle.

Meanwhile @ FSU Taggart is pulling in 4*s left and right with vanilla ice and ice cream. I was told repeatedly that Taggart was a bum and Mullen was a great hire

we told you several times Mullen can’t recruit. He isn’t going to beg these kids to come play at Florida. He is way too proud and his ego is too big. Hell he wouldn’t man up and put Freeze in his place. Had Freeze meeting player’s parents right in the shadow of Davis Wade Stadium at BWW and wouldn’t put an end to it. Now we have a coach taking players with Bama and OSU offers. And you have a coach who will be out recruited by every coach, including Kiffin, in Florida.

Is he a good coach? He can be. As long as the talent is equal or he has the advantage. Against superior talent prepare to get skull-drug.

He was interviewed toward the end of the game and he sort of sounds like a dumbass.

You could tell Mullen was trying to score any points he could, the talent on offense outside of RB just isn’t very good.

It will get there. Give Mullen a couple of years. He has shown he can do well with lesser talented players, and he will get better players at Florida. But, it will take a couple of years.

Thank God, because this was weird to me.

That's exactly what I was telling everyone -- it wasn't a real game or even scrimmage. We've had two open scrimmages so far, so we know that they're not training like that. I would have just preferred that we took this game a little more seriously, although I understand the need for fun, celebrate their Spring ending but it wasn't what I wanted to see.

In our last spring game we had a kid ejected for almost beheading his own teammate. Mullen normally runs a spring game more wide open then what I saw. He realizes he has nothing to work with

I hate gimmicky crap but if you can't sell your plan you gotta do something to get the guys attention. It is what it is.

I personally liked it. Spring games can be pretty damn boring. If you ask people to come out in large numbers, you need to put on a bit of a show. It was one of the more enjoyable spring games I've attended.

Im watching it right now and this first quarter is pretty bad.

Just ended with the qb getting a pass off, but he would have been taken down in a game.

Mullen seemed to take pride in small things like getting the ball out of bounds successfully.

He has pumped Franks quite a bit so far as well. Dont know if that is a good thing.

And Rogers commentating about getting erotic was weird.

Harvin sounds like a retard

Wow and now the Franks TD and being a goober after the play. Fk that dude is going to get killed if he plays this year.

Alright, hitting submit

Our QBs and OL are terrible and one of our least bad OL is still recovering from a torn ACL.

If this has had been remotely like what we would see in the season, it would have been 90% handoffs to RBs going for 0-4 yards. Add in that our best skill players either have a lengthy injury history (Toney needs to get on that Percy HGH-arvin plan asap) or were injured this spring (Cleveland - hammy).

Mullen isn't going to win or lose a single game based off this practice. He was trying to give Gator fans a little fun before what is sure to be a grind it out, hard to watch season ahead.
