Recent history is the reason, and while many might not agree with that being a relevant aspect of rankings, it has been used as one for quite some time. No issue with it personally.

UGA does let the off-season drama effect them. The worst punishment is a drivers Ed class and in all honesty it’s likely the only time they see a classroom at UGA for many of them.

Lolololol. That’s not how it works. You were not objectively better. Do you even know what objective means. Jesus h christ.

A single snap hasn't been taken this season, and already Texas is butthurt that the most irrelevant poll of the whole year doesn't give them credit for what they did last year.
That may be the most Texas thing I'll see all day.

Let me summarize the arguments
Pro Texas
1. Won the SEC in 2023
2. Made the playoff
3. Finished ahead of Georgia in the final AP poll. Despite losing, meaning we really looked that much better,
4. Has a higher ranked transfer portal class
5. We develop talent better: had 11 draft picks last year to Georgia's 8
Pro Georgia
1. Were good a couple years ago
2. Won one more game because they statpadded against a shell of an FSU team
You show any non biased individual these pros/cons list and they're choosing the Horns 100/100 times

Even the preseason voters don't vote the true #1 team as #1, that's why those fake #1s never win the national championship.
We all know Georgia isn't the #1 team but we just go along with it because mUh tRaDiTioN.

There is a lot of y'all who think that way.

So no you don’t understand what objective means. I think simply posting on a message board is enough of an accomplishment. I saw an ad for a company with a 63% employment autism rate. Your post reminded me of it. I think it’s important for all people to feel like they are a part of society. Kudos.

Georgia was still the better team between the two of you last year. They should have been in the playoffs over TEX.

I agree with the OP. Georgia is ridiculously overrated this year, as well as Carson Beck.
Quinn Ewers is a better QB.
And it's true. Texas did what Georgia couldn't last year - beat Alabama.
Texas made the playoffs. Georgia didn't.
People are only ranking Georgia off of the perception that they are the best program right now.
I think Texas will beat Georgia and face Alabama in the SEC Championship (and lose. Sark can't beat DeBoer).
Georgia's downfall begins now. I expect KS to retire within the next 2-3 seasons as well. It was a nice little run, but you're kidding yourself if you thought that Kirby Smart was anywhere near Nick Saban.

Let me summarize for you bro....
In the last 3 years, UGA has won 2 Natties, and lost a grand total of 2 games...TWO! We have also put 33 players in the NFL during that time, which is the best of any team in the nation over that time frame. So your statement of 'developing talent' is idiotic.
Between us and Bama, those two teams have controlled and dominated recruiting for the last 5 years. Go back and look at all of the rankings.
Texas? They had one good season...ONE, last year. For the last 10 freaking years, Texas has done exactly JACK. They have been nothing but mediocre. One good season and you suddenly think you are ready to sit on the throne of the college football elite? Sorry bro, it doesn't work that way.

Patience, young Padawan.
If Sarkie can beat UGA you can look forward to seeing UT ranked #2 the following week.
