Bama should be the favorite just based on schedule.

Auburn makes it through with zero or one loss, Gus needs more awards.

Bama is the clear favorite. Only team that has NO chance of going 7-5 at this point.

State is going to beat A&M in Starkville. It's Bulldog Bash and our first home SEC game after a big win against LSU. Our guys will be ready to play and you don't have the defense to stop our offense. We will get pressure on Kenny Hill to get enough stops to win. It'll be a high scoring game though

Either Au or Bama, pretty clear to me, but I do know football better than most.

What makes us pretenders exactly? We could have picked the score against Vandy while y'all struggled mightily with them. Now I'm not trying to start a holy war between Cocks and Rebels. I like USC, I'm even dating a Gamecock. But in what realm do you know if we are contenders or pretenders yet?

I hope that your opinion is changed this weekend.

At this point I think tamu and Aub have to be the favorites. But Bama and the ms teams are right there. Some of the hype for all these west teams will end once we start playing each other. I will say if Bama can clean up the sloppy play, they can be pretty darn good.

False. You have the 5th best QB in the division. Marshall, Trill, Dak and Bo are all clearly better. You have an incredible receiver and a really unfair set of running backs. Your QB play is average to below average.

Based on what? Sims has looked incredible through four games and if not for sharing snaps the first three games his numbers would be unreal. The only qb who has looked better is Hill and he hasn't played a defense worth a crap yet.

Bro he can't throw the deep ball and can only throw bubbles.

Wait until he plays a real defense like Florida.

Bama is definitely the favorite IMO.

Bama's schedule is so much easier than everyone else's and AU's in particular, they have to be considered the most likely. Not necessarily the best team, but the most likely.

Here's your problem, and every thought you have goes upon the rant.

It's really not that hard, there are probably 5 capable teams that play each other and it will work itself out.

No, 1 or none, someone will rise up and be dominant.

I think at this point (which is way too early) if you are ranking by "best team" I'd have to say

1a Alabama
1b Auburn
1c Texas A&M
2a Ole Miss
2b State
6 LSU (I guess)
7 Arkansas

But another week could totally shift the 1s and 2s. I think as of right now Alabama and Auburn are more complete than the Landmass schools and probably A&M, but who knows if it will still look like that in 3 weeks.

I really need to see A&M play a few more games.

I think it is pretty clear LSU is not in that category and while Arkansas runs well they can't throw and their defense is average at best. They will be trouble for someone who doesn't matchup well with them, but State, Ole Miss and Alabama do.

Only MSU and A&M have impressive wins thus far. Bama looks like the favorite though assuming their offense can be that good all season. Auburn and LSU might end up finishing surprisingly low in the standings.

We will see. First 3 qtrs Wisconsin LSU appears to be the real LSU, and that LSU is a dumpster fire of awful.

Right now, mine is:

1a AU
1b Bama
2 A&M
3 MSU
4 LSU
5a Arky
5b Ole Miss

I think AU and Bama are the most complete teams. Our defense is legit this year and we are one pass rusher (Lawson) away from a top 3 defense in the SEC I believe. Not convinced AtM is a complete team yet, but they are very good.

Also, I think Ole Miss is in for some trouble soon. I'm not buying them yet and I think the pigs will beat them as well.

Right, lsu may be a 7-5 team this year,so that may not end up being an impressive win. Tamu beating a cock team who barely escaped both ecu and vandy doesn't look too great at this point either. Bottom line is the west looks wide open right now minus lsu and arky. I think it comes down to Bama, auburn and tamu personally.

Yea I agree on A&M, just not sure how good they are. I think they are clearly good, but I'd like to see them play a competent defense first. They might blow it out of the water, I just don't know.

I feel like Ole Miss' defense is really good, and that is a huge plus, because I do not trust an offense with a bunch of 150 lb scat backs, Bo Wallace at QB and that OL in the SEC West, regardless of their WR's.

Still, winning in Death Valley at night under Les Miles has been probably the most difficult task in college football for the last decade.

A&M and Arky will be interesting next weekend. We will find out if they have a legit D in that one as the pigs will challenge them up front with the run.

I'm just glad AU gets A&M late in the year. They would beat us right now with our lack of a pass rush.
