Can you name them?

5 from the SEC

2 each from the Pac and ACC

A B1G, a Big 12 and a should be B1G

Alabama, Clemson, LSU, Florida State, Mississippi State, Georgia

What's a greater number? The weeks State has been ranked No.1 or SEC wins Arkansas has had in the last 4 years?

Could have sworn Iowa somehow got up to number 1 a few years back but maybe they were just 2

Ark is the only SEC West team that has not been ranked in the Top 4 of the playoff poll

Last decade includes the 09 season so that's 6 for the SEC (Florida).

That Mississippi State 2014 team was the luckiest number 1 ranking of all time. They began with a a non-conference of Southern Miss, UAB and South Alabama then a way overrated #8 LSU who finished 8-5, then #6 A&M who finished 8-5 with a losing SEC record, then #2 Auburn who finished 8-5, then you beat a 5-7 Kentucky team, an Arky team that went 2-6 in conference and then Tennessee Martin to receive the #1 ranking that completes the weakest non-con schedule I’ve ever seen...to lose to Bama the next week (no shame there).

Just the facts.

You shouldn't have done that, you'll upset the pack of Bulldogs on here.

So M-State beat #8 #6 #2 and they were overrated?

I'm pretty sure those were in consecutive weeks as well, or pretty close to it.

To be fair, we were also the first #1 team in the current era

Agreed it was a pretty weak schedule, we did technically beat 3 top 10 teams in a row though, LSU, Auburn, and A&M. Not positive A&M was top 10. And haters gonna hate, that was a heck of a ride, glad we all got to enjoy it for a bit. No one can ever take away that we were also #1 in the first CFP poll ever. Pretty cool.

We bitch slapped all of those allegedly good teams- three top 10s in a row- and then lost by less than a TD @Bama in a game where Mullen lost his playcalling nuts.

It was a damn strong team. What else did you want us to do?

College football is more top heavy than people realize.

For the most part the same group of about 10-15 schools win virtually all the national championships.

I actually got that one and said Florida over Georgia, because I couldn't remember if Florida ever reached #1 in 2009. I forgot Georgia was #1 recently. Oh well, 11/12 ain't bad for not looking it up.

I'm sure most of us remember MSU, as it was kind of a big deal. USC being preseason #1 in 2012 is probably the most forgettable one.

Wait, so I was right? Have there actually been 13 #1 teams? If it's 13, I would have eventually thought of Georgia, too, even though I don't actually remember them being #1.
