The farther West you go, the flatter it generally gets until you near the Colorado border. The "flint hills" is actually pretty flat. Of course, I grew up in South Carolina which actually has hills. Now, Baton Rouge is flat!

Fun fact, the territory (and eventually state) of kansas was named after Kansas City, Missouri, in an attempt to trick settlers into associating the desolate area of kansas with the bustling metropolis of KC. The most populous areas of kansas are suburbs of KCMO, and the most fun you can have in those areas is by driving into Missouri. The more you know
