I have no doubt he would’ve stayed with his team through the playoffs

I don't like it but it is a new world. Sigh.

He was the antithesis of Kiffin.

He’s who my choice was for head coach when we fired Luke

Him, Shaq, Barkley, and Spurrier need to start a sports talk show....the ratings would be insane..Also if they have bloopers and let Bark and Spurrier insult the person in them it would be golden.

Mike Leach was a pirate.
Lane is a Somalian daycare pirate.

The holy pirate. Man, I miss him. He probably wouldn’t get along with many boosters at elite programs, but his elite coaching and development skills far made up for it (the goat). i think he was more resourceful than Saban by a long shot, but cfb is more about relationships.

RIP Coach Leach. We miss you.

Mike Leach. My favorite coach in my lifetime. Just for his practical, no-bullshite approach.
Everybody wants to compare Cignetti to Saban. At least in how he talks ? Cignetti reminds me of Mike Leach.

His thoughts on candy corn were epic

I loved the story of Leach writing a check to cover several months of bills and rent to save a soul food restaurant from going out of business due to COVID in Starkville that he loved to frequent. He apparently became good friends with the black lady that owned it and said she was the best cook in Starkville
Leach was just one of those guys who enjoyed life. Genuine good guy. It still hurts that he died so young

He knew a lot of things about a lot of things.
When you're The Pirate, you kind of have to.
